‘toon tale told to(by) and idiot. Obama was born in Hawaii, while he traveled the world, it was home. The Bush folks were from New England, “W” transplanted to Texas. Reagan had the “Western White House” in California (he wasn’t born there either), remember? BTW, when Jim Watt was removing all mineral withdrawals, he placed one outside that “western White House”, because Nancy didn’t like the noise from mining being so close.
Also Ike and others played a lot more golf than “O”, but all Presidents DO deserve some “time off”, but never (in most cases) ever really get away from the job. I don’t even begrudge “W” some time at the (cattle free) ranch cutting brush, but WHY do Republicans and “righties” find it so wrong for Obama, or Clinton, to take any time away?
As to spending on travel, might also look into “Air Sununu”, and he was only an advisor!
I grew up with people who looked after the president (in my day, Eisenhower, then Kennedy, then Johnson) — secret service and others — they knew it was a hard job and they took it because they liked it. (I will say that the secret service didn’t much like the Nixon girls, who treated them like servants. They would even borrow money and not pay it back.)

Such a burden working directly for the president of the United States! But, if they quit, nobody would want to take their places!
Desperate times, when the haters have to reach so far to find something to say.
