Marcie, Marcie, Marcie……..or was that Marsha, Marsha, Marsha? I wonder if Peppermint knows she’s got a special friend!

“Peanuts” was getting stale until Peppermint Pattie spiced things up. She changed the whole flavor of the strip. Really.

I cannot believe people will take something innocent and try to ruin it with unaccounted slanders. Peanuts was just a good old-fashioned comic/cartoon. No need to turn it into something that stinks.

While the York Peppermint Pattie was first produced in the 40’s, it didn’t get national distribution until 1975, some 9 years after the Peppermint Patty character. Since Schultz was from Minnesota, it is possible that he was unfamiliar with the confection, which was limited in distribution to the Northeast and Florida.

Since the name is only cute if you already know the candy…

“Schulz has said in several interviews that he named Peppermint Patty after a dish of peppermint candies he had in his office, and simply thought the name too good to pass up. "Wikipedia

So, in the UK; it’s equivalent would have been Fry’s Chocolate Cream?
