Never take love seriously until you’re in your mid-twenties.

There was a girl I knew in high school she was a year ahead of me. She got married after she got out and left the state. Met her again many years later found out she was divorced and started dating. We’ve been married now for 23 years just shows some things are meant to be.

Crushed is when it takes three years (in HS) to finally ask a girl for a date. And her 50 milliseconds to say no!

Man, you aren’t kidding about the silly things we did. I still blush when I remember some of them.

And most people who have a “drug problem” actually have an underlying problem of some kind. The drugs are a symptom, not the root cause.

I remember having crushes on male teachers and boys in school and my youth group. Crushes sometimes have positive outcomes. The person you had the crush on becomes a close friend!

Many times when I was in school, I either dated or got to know just as friends young men I had HUGE crushes on. It was always disappointing when they sometimes didn’t live up to the “romantic hype” I had of them in my mind!

At age 63 I reconnected with some I had adored between the ages of 7 and 18. We have now been together almost four years and it’s easily the best relationship I could ever have imagined—and I have been married three times. We think it’s because we established a relationship of love and trust before hormones got in the way. PS—he and my daughter have a wonderful relationship, and even more amazing, he has a great friendship with my daughter’s dad.

I had a crush on the girl next door, but she liked my best friend instead. She talked me into asing out her friend (who had a crush on me apparently), and I eventually did. My crush’s friend and I are about to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
