How big of a batting average are Rose and Cobb? Can any of you following commentators tell me without using Google?

Even I know that Baseball and so-called American football aren’t real sports.

Season or career? Cobb for career, but not season (Rogers Hornsby at .424 and I didn’t google it…yet.) Rose had hits, not batting average.

After googling, I knew I should have said modern era. Tip O’Neill had a .485 in 1885, and Hugh Duffy had a .440 in 1894 for the Beaneaters. I didn’t realize there were two Tip O’Neil’s (I was familiar with the former Speaker of the House).

All the others I used to watch, but now they are boring, especially baseball.

USA Today once did a graphic on the Superbowl:Time to play the game: Three hours.Time elapsed on the clock: One hour.Time the ball is in play: Six minutes.’nuff said.

And while I think of it; to all the sports channel programmers:POKER IS NOT A SPORT!!!!

Of the sports options mentioned I’ll have to go with football American style. What I really like to watch is gymnastics. It’s amazing what they can get their bodies to do.

THE NFL, BABY, THE NFL! Packers, Ravens and Vikings! And I could become a Steeler fan, having met some of them in person at their summer camp in Latrobe, PA

I saw Australian football a few times. It was all kinds of crazy.
