What is GT satirizing here? I don’tthink right or left would claim affinity forJeff, and certainly not slacker-boy—-er, Blue Bandit.

Ah, you guys have obviously never been to San Diego Comic Con. It is a 4 day convention of the weird and wonderful, although not much about comics anymore. Hollywood discovered it about ten years ago, now its more about movies and tv shows.

Is this a 2012 rerun or some new strip not dated 2013?

In the News: READ IT ‘N’ WEEP, GOP

“ELIZABETH WARREN. The newly elected Democratic senator from Massachusetts won a hard-fought race against Republican incumbent Scott Brown in one of the most-watched elections of 2012. The former Harvard law professor who helped create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau LANDED A SPOT ON THE SENATE BANKING COMMITTEE!”

Yes, to whoever asked, it’s a rerun. Must be something too controversial to print in the real strip.

“I hoping that [Jeff’s] book makes a point about how the U.S. people were given a pack of lies just to go to war.”

Not likely, since author Jeff is a rightwing CIA “black ops” agent who extracted U.S.-govt.-puppet dictator-for-life Trff Bmzklfrpz from our client state Berserkistan.

Went to my first FanCon last year. A fun turn out for geekdom. No dressing up for me….. but many did….. and that was fun to see.

I loved this one (Rick’s comment) when it first came out, and still do! I think Garry is entitled to vacations – he’s a national treasure, IMHO!

All the talk the other day of sarcastic comments reminded me of a character in the movie Lincoln. In it, Thaddeus Stevens was often accused of using “sarcastic eloquence.” He was just as fascinating as Lincoln himself (in the film anyway)…

Actually, for the most part, GT doesn’t really get all that controversial. When he does get controversial, he tends to get a ton of attention. I am glad that he is not afraid to speak out on the issues of the day. GT is a great artist with a great mind.

Newshound – I’ll stick with “whoever,” because, even though Trudeau is the subject of the sentence, “who(m)ever” is the subject of the dependent clause, which has a subject and verb of its own. A little googling of grammar sites found more support for “who” than for “whom.” Now that we disagree, we can engage in bitter arguments and character assassination. As Calvin once said “A little rudeness and disrespect can add excitement to another wise dull day.”

Just a pont of correction President Obama went back to Hawaii. The news said they would either send the fiscal bill by express courier or have it signed by “autosign”. The signature must be affixed by the 3rd, I believe.
