Andy: Paige, this bedroom is a pigsty! You've got candy and makeup ground into your carpet! You've got papers here from seventh grade! And you never put away all the laundry I did last week! Perhaps a New Year's Resolution is in order? Paige: Good idea. I resolve to buy a lock for my door.

Right. If you can’t see it, you can’t nag it.

With a remark like that, Randi should lock all of Paige’s stuff up and take away a few privileges for a while.

Paige, typical teenage girl. “The Terrible Teens”! When my daughter hit 14 she turned into a pit viper! Now she’s in her mid 30’s and one couldn’t find a sweeter woman.

After that remark, she shouldn’t even have a door to close/lock for a while. It would not be harsh for her mother to punish her. There should be consequences for not doing what you are supposed to do and for being rude and disrespectful. I don’t see Paige apologizing and I don’t think she was kidding. Kids/teenagers seem to think they are entitled to say whatever they want to whomever they want these day. But they need to be taught respect by their parents or someone else may teach them a much less pleasant lesson later in life.
