dad: oh boy! it's january 2nd! do you think he came? mom: what are you talking about? dad: everyone knows that on new year's night, good moms and dads are visited by joey jingle the obsessive compulsive elf!! joey jingle sneaks into the house and takes the ornaments off the tree! then he drags it out to the street and returns to vacuum up all the needles! and it's off to the kitchen to scrub the gunk out of the tree stand! he boxes up all the decorations and christmas lights, and puts them neatly away in the attic! when the parents wake up, the house looks like christmas never happened!! mom: looks like you were a bad dad! dad: i'll be good this year!

Does Joey Jingle also take down outdoor lights and discards the old burned out bulbs and replaces them with new ones so one doesn’t have to do that the next year them self?

I’d get more than just a bit ticked at him, we leave them up till the 6th. And I LIKE taking the ornaments off the tree, just like I like putting them up. Every ornament is special, it’s a gift or important reminder of a memory.
