OK. Hello all…… I’m here too…. at last, and somewhat briefly.
It really turned into one of those days, after what I’d thought was a promising start.
Bev…. I might just need that little outhouse…. sigh…
BTW, yesterday or the day before I said I felt bad that I’d missed your birthday….but looking through my pictures I saw the cake I posted you.
So I didn’t miss it. What was I thinking of?Hmpff…. I take back any apology for it that I made.Oh…. speaking of apologies…Essex…. sorry about the confusion (overleaf) … I know you’re a gentleman….I prize that….Your comment did sound just the teeniest bit snarky to me, possibly because of my mood…. but I wasn’t actually bothered.Takes more than that.I’m one of those dopey puppydogs who usually thinks everybody’s teasing…even when they ARE trying to insult me.I confess, I exaggerated my reaction for comic effect….as I’d done in my earlier response to Stel…I wish we had a facetious font cos it doesn’t always come off as intended.Sorry.
When they said Neal was a stand up guy, I thought that they were kidding. At least his “pals” provide great moving targets for Ethel’s archery fetish…er… hobby !
Neal’s pal in the back, there….he enjoys walking backward and keeping a lookout for…well, anything! You never know what else will happen on Ballard St!
To picolliI am sorry to hear that. I loved Ravi’s music. I have a sitar at home. Brought it back from overseas when I with my parents lived in (back then) West Pakistan. 1964 to 1967. Dad worked on the Mangla Dam project. It is still there and even the home I use to live in at the Baral Colony. I used to sit and listen to that music all day. Thought it was so cool.
I like the backwards one. Is it the back view of the of the one on his left or the back view of himself?I would say look out. Here comes those Ballard Street ruffians. With their cool 50’s looks hair and style. Grease comes to mind. (Oh my poor aching mind)
I have the flu. Be back shortly. Unless by some freak of nature it turns out to be the Bella Bori virus that nobody knows about until I pass away slowly and in agony and which after years of research they decide it wasn’t the Bella Bori virus at all. Just bad lunch meat. After which they will never know about the Bella Bori virus and my death will have been for naught. But if I live…save me a Snickerdoodle.
Oh just put the lime in the coconut and drink them both together.Dan you feel better.Only costa dime.Den call me in da morning. I’ll tell you wha to do.
My wife went to the docs. She and I had that coughing flu bug going round. Doc did a prescription for some stuff I thought was gone.Cough Syrup with CODINE. Haven’t seen that stuff since the Army. They gave it out in cases if you coughed back then. Two spoonful the wife just smiles and goes to sleep. At least she is not coughing her head off. I am just about over mine only cough when I inhale some cold air will trigger a cough fit. Due to my work and possible random drug testing I don’t take the medicine she does. I know its prescription but my agency can be so anal about it. Just Theraflu or Robitussin works fine. Add some Mucinex when needed.
@Veteran,I had my squeezed lime (no coconut) before breakfast this morning. I don’t expect to catch any colds as I avoid sick people. Worry about planetrips in this season got me to take a flu shot this year, but I try to stay totally naturalNot even Sudafed for a cold (just salt water)..@Essex, in art oil is not Valvolene (or even Astroglide, actually water based) I decided I have to post my Charles Vicary.
Just have to blow up my new avatar for you, I love Betty Boop! (even wear a Betty Boop watch at times) Its better bigger, as are many things…get your minds out of the gutter….I meant things like…er, banana’s…yeah, and snickerdoodles…that kind of stuff….lol…
@Essexoh, arent they gorgeous! I do keep a couple of sacks of deercorn because we have deer that come to the river behind my house and in winter I go out there daily with a panful…keeps me shoveling but its worth it…and yes, I have a snowblower and know how to use it…there are just areas you still have to shovel…but its great to take a cup of coffe and a pan of new corn out to them and see the old stuff has been eaten…I take the old pan home to wash and refill of course…they seem to know its going to be there until the snow melts and the new grass is growing…then it stops…but I always see tiny hoofprints later in the spring and have always thought that mama was telling the fawns to come here in the winter and get something to eat….when I sell this house; if ever, I am putting it in the contract that they have to fee the deer…lol…
Lord help me, I kept goinf through jazz, and I eventually wound up with this…there was a specian on this evening about Jim and the Doors and I tend to lean this way..
I liked both Big Bird singing (even tho’ Family Guy, Seth did a good job) and Miles playing Hucklebuck.Valvolene art not so much, and Downunder (as you are in summer) I’ll match my Phoenix summer against yours, especially as it’s warm enough after dar to still enjoy a good long . . swim.
Best thing at the start of a cold is gargling often with salt water when you don’t want to cough. I haven’t used any medicine for colds in years and hope not to catch anything on the planes..@Veteran, the only reason I filled perscription on the way home from the EVLT on my veins is that they told me they had injected pain relievers as they were working back there and that it would wear off soon (then I’d have to drive that way).
Oh Red, if you only knew…I am an afficianado of the period between the wars….the period of the 1920’s to the 1950’s fascinates me…I have so many books about this period, and the biographies, weigh my book shelves down…so many changes in our culture…so many changes in our plumbing and electricity and in phone service…sheesh, we changed so much and yet went backward in too many ways…heck, I love us, we rock, because without us we would crack….
While I like a big variety of music I’m taking along a few DVDs on my trip. I have a few great old animated movies I want to watch with the grandkids (I think even the teens would like, as I always have), and the Covent Garden version of “Fleidermaus” that I first saw on a New Years simulcast. It was directed by Placido and has a lot of improv (typical of the venue). My lover shares my enjoyment of opera and has taken me to many when I lived back there – he always gets better seats than I’d be willing to pay.
@Bev, I constantly fuss with my toilets here (my house has 3 and I use one of the upstairs as well as the downstairs). They are the standard issue so even though I had a plumber replace the main tower in them, there are problems. One has a flapper that barely covers and another needs a giggle after every flush. At his house, the bathrooms are amoung the best things. Besides the wonderful new Jacuzzi in master bath, the toilets are top of the line (contractor’s price, naturally) and work perfectly and silently.
Just to clarify, the best thing about going there is just to be with HIM. Less than a week to wait now. Hope my BP holds out low enough until . . . I will be taking readings in the airport and on plane.
are you planning on a huge septomilogical event?….
I am sure thats spelled incorrectly, and possible in the wrong intent….But, Big Buddy, are you taking a crud of seimilogical porportions?…(forgive me, it just came to me…and I wish it would go away…)

BTW, any discussion of annoying, on the web, has to include the original annoying website (though I confess to great fondness for it, myself.)
A flash to the more innocent “Good old days” of what…. 2000?
In a phenomenon akin to the Rick-rolling that followed, people were tricked into ending up HERE

And now I read that Ravi Shankar has died. There’ll shortly be a great concert in the musical afterlife.
