Only a matter of time . . .

Please don’t go, Walt. It’s bad enough that your wife was kicked out of the strip.

Mm, Rod’s right. Walt would be, by now, one of the oldest dozen people in the world, and the second oldest man alive. Much older, and Jim’d have to go back on the progressive aging thing that’s a signature element of the strip.

That was scary.

The more-or-less real-time aging in GA seems to imply that old Walt will someday have to go. But will it still be Gasoline Alley without him? On the other hand, even if he does finally die, his character could go on forever in dreams and flashbacks. Maybe we’ll see in 2013. Happy New Year, everyone!

A real nightmare.

Time keeps moving on. My father was born 110 years ago on Jan. 31. He passed away at 92 and it still hurts. Jim S. will do right by his strip for as long as he can, and maybe there will be a successor.

I was worried for a minute.

I’m with Susan Newman regarding Slim and his worthless relatives. And, like pscheerer & Ray Toler, I too would like to see some of Walt’s recollections involving some of the old characters of this strip.

Very true. My dad new time was coming. So others will know I delete my comment about my Pastor’s dad. He did the scripture and memory service of his dad.

This strip hints at the saying that if you die in your dream you will die soon in reality.
