And the Pony Express was private. The freighting firm of Russell, Majors & Waddell created the Pony Express and ran it for 19 months. Hmmm, private freight company, delivering 1st class mail, could be a good idea once again.

I mailed a letter that after a week still hasn’t arrived at it’s destination – now I know why.

I’d rather have them keep saturday mail and cut two days in the week, say tuesdays and thursdays. Then move to 4 tens…employees keep their hours but less delivery costs.

I say this cause I’m usually the one getting stuck waiting for something to come over a weekend and it delays things an extra day or two right now, but with no weekend delivery it would delay things an extra day or so. Don’t ask me how or why something that is suppose to come friday can’t be delivered saturday, but has to wait till monday. I’ve never understood it myself.

The only fiscal problem at USPS is the requirement imposed by GOPers in Congress to fund postal workers’ pensions fully through 2040, the sole intention of which was to trash USPS. GOPers want everybody to be forced to pay FedEx $14 to pay the electric bill.

“Move to 4 tens”, great idea!

However nowadays in this depression as our street savages grow wilder, perhaps a 20 gauge might work better?
