That’s the problem with Republican leaders: most of them are elderly guys who want to be young again.Don’t they realize that Change is the only constant in the Universe?
reps want the days of robber barrons, and the economy of the roaring 20’s. not what led up to it, and not what followed it. capitalistic societies are cyclic. We, as a nation, decided a long time ago to use a bit of socialism to insulate against the evils of unregulated, unbridled capitalism. If you want the roaring 20’s, you pay for it with the great depression.
^actually the people they took advantage of gave us those things, but they certainly profited from it and facilitated making it available to all. I gather from your post, you long for the days of the robber barons again, and no doubt the triangle shirtwaist factories.
They also mistreated workers, broke the law and used their money to gain power through whatever tactic proved best, legal or otherwise. You must have supported Hitler as well, I mean come on he put Germany back to work, built a huge infrastructure and brought the country out of a depression. Try adding some logic to your argument next time…
Sen DeMint figured out a way to make it the 1950’s again, he’s quiting the senate and joining the Heritage Foundation. This must have been in the works for a while, he’s going to be the president-elect of the foundation.

I always thought they wanted the 1890s again. In the 50s, the taxes on the rich were way too high for these twits. And unions were everywhere.
