Amazing that GOPers still turn a blind eye, to the biggest lie, ever. Even Gulf of Tonkin was at least an excuse to defend our “allies” engaged in a war to stop dominoes, that the Republicans totally suported.

Still the same old Dumbocrat talking point that if O fails again and again, just blame Bush. So old and so tired. How old are you?

The Benghazi incident is not making world news. I have only read about it in these editorial comics. Losing an ambassador is very serious news indeed, especially if due to bad intelligence. But how does that compare to what eventuated in Iraq, which lost a lot of USA lives, hundreds of thousands of civilians, and was the major precipitant for your recession, massive deficit and the GFC?So, if blame is going to be actioned for this incident, is anyone getting prosecuted for far worse?

it is truly sad to see a man who used to be respected by those on the other side of the aisle turn into what McCain has now become.

yawn“On May 16, 2004, a 152 mm artillery shell was used as an improvised bomb. The shell exploded and two U.S. soldiers were treated for minor exposure to a nerve agent (nausea and dilated pupils). On May 18 it was reported by U.S. Department of Defense intelligence officials that tests showed the two-chambered shell contained the chemical agent sarin, the shell being “likely” to have contained three to four liters of the substance (in the form of its two unmixed precursor chemicals prior to the aforementioned explosion that had not effectively mixed them). Former U.S. weapons inspector David Kay told the Associated Press that “he doubted the shell or the nerve agent came from a hidden stockpile, although he didn’t rule out that possibility.” Kay also considered it possible that the shell was “an old relic overlooked when Saddam said he had destroyed such weapons in the mid-1990s.”It is likely that the insurgents who planted the bomb did not know it contained sarin, according to Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, and another U.S. official confirmed that the shell did not have the markings of a chemical agent. The Iraq Survey Group later concluded that the shell “probably originated with a batch that was stored in a Al Muthanna CW complex basement during the late 1980s for the purpose of leakage testing”“In a July 2, 2004, article published by The Associated Press and Fox News, it was reported that sarin gas warheads dating back to the last Iran–Iraq War were found in South Central Iraq by Polish Allies. The Polish troops secured munitions on June 23, 2004, but it turned out that the warheads did not in fact contain sarin gas but “were all empty and tested negative for any type of chemicals”—and it transpired that the Poles had bought the shells for $5,000 each. The United States abandoned its search for WMDs in Iraq on January 12, 2005.“”On September 30, 2004, the U.S. Iraq Survey Group Final Report concluded that “ISG has not found evidence that Saddam Husayn (sic) possessed WMD stocks in 2003, but the available evidence from its investigation—including detainee interviews and document exploitation—leaves open the possibility that some weapons existed in Iraq although not of a militarily significant capability”

There never was any WMD in Iraq and to this day none have been found. The intelligence that got us into the Iraq war was wrong. How about all the embassy deaths that occured under Bush?

It’s understandable. There are several types of mosquitoes. They all bite, buzz and annoy, but only a few carry disease. West Nile.

Amazing coincidence actually. A very highly ranked political figure was handed a list of talking points by the CIA, to be presented to the public. The talking points later turned out to be false. Both were women named Rice. One caused a war and the other caused confusion. Which was worse?

No one cares about Benghazi except the GOP and Fox ‘News’. Which, of course, is the exact same thing.

Who cares what McCain wants? He has out-lived his purpose! If he even had any. Getting caught by the enemy doesn’t make you an expert. It doesn’t give you a right to force your opinion on anyone either.

It seems as though someone replaced his brain. He was moderate-to-liberal in 2000, but got out of the race because Rove was just too dirty. (He had a phone bank call people in South Carolina and ask “Would you vote for John McCain if you knew he had fathered an illegitimate black child?” Note that there is no true accusation there; just enough innuendo to move a true South Carolinian away from the then-front-runner.)

He had the guts to call Jerry Falwell an “Agent of Intolerance.”

A few years later, he was speaking at Liberty University. Something happened; I’d surely like to know what.

^and is usual, israel was almost universally condemned for that move. At the same token, north korea getting nukes under shrubs administration was largely ignored by the republicans. if a dem was in office it would have been chicken little with the sky falling.
