Well, you can curse the darkness or bless the light. I choose light.

This toon assumes the rate of addition of women senators is linear. If it’s more exponential or logistic, we’ll be at/near parity much sooner. That’s my hope, and it’s not too unreasonable since there is a generational shift afoot.

I do not care who is elected if they remember it for the people not the person.

As someone who has been a man for a long time, I gotta say I trust the wisdom of women far more than men.

This reminds me of a factoid from Stephen Colbert a few weeks ago when he (jokingly) criticised Justice Sotomeyer for telling a muppet that princess wasn’t a career. He pointed out that in America, a total of 4 women have become supreme court justices in our entire history while 8 have become princesses.

I doubt we’ll ever see parity, not because of differences in ability but because of differences in competitiveness. To win a Senatorial election you’ve got to fight long and hard and dirty, and you’ve really got to WANT the power. Generally speaking, I think that will continue to tip the balance to the guys (individual contests notwithstanding).

“People shouldn’t even have to give their opinions when running for office.”And you wonder why the big boys won’t play with you.

I really think I saw an unmanned drone flying overhead a couple of days ago when I was walking my dogs. It was moving very slowly and was very low. It looked quite like your drawings, Ted.

People dismiss this stuff but it’s real. I live in Carlsbad, NM. A Mexican drone crashed in El Paso a few years back.
