Funny, but inaccurate. The Good Conduct Medal is awarded only to enlisted members of the Armed Forces. Officers, such as General Petraus, would not be eligible.
Problem we have had in our “wars” lately, is our military leaders listen to our political leaders (most have no clue about fighting a military battle0, and they themselves have become politicians to get promotions. Long absences from loved ones tend to promote finding solice and affection elsewhere. (So what are politicians’ excuse- they can take family wit them?)
That his clothes are on a chair is a great image. It says “one night stand”. (That and the Gideon Bible.)Her being on the telephone is another great image.A very good cartoon.
The real fact is our military has too many “field grade” officers, and too many generals. We could well stand to lose a few more, especially reducing all those in the Pentagon who do nothing but contracting, and lining up their next job with the “private sector”.
