Does anyone at all think there is something obscene about politicians trying to convince us that they care for the poor and needy while they spend all their money on getting themselves elected?I do, but then I also feel that way about the Catholic Church leadership.
It’s not the White House occupier spending the money. The money comes from congress, and spending and tax bills start in the house. Obama’s term has been much better on the deficit than any Republican president’s (if you rely on the numbers, not conservative “gut feelings”).
It is sad,that after a solid victory for the president, a decisive defeat for the GOP, the sorry politicians of the right still refuse to recognize the will of the people and help solve the issues at hand. There is no honor in the republican party.

And if Bush and his Republican Congress, with the help of a willing Democratic party after 9/11, had actually “budgeted” for the wars, instead of using “supplemental”, i.e. NON-BUDGETED numbers, we would have been out of there earlier, and so would he! We’re still paying for them now, because has to try to clean up the mess!
