Sophie’s just trying to keep them from getting all excited over the state of the World.(Remember the beginning of ‘Lady & the Tramp’?)

You got to get up pretty early to beat Sophie to the paper. She looks so cute in that last panel.

Other than to read the comics who needs one.

A neighbor’s dog did that to my Sunday paper.

My dog ate my newspaper!

I used to take a paper to use in the bird cage/perches etc, until I realized I get enough grocery flyers for that.
