“increase in unemployment to 7.9%—administration predicted 5.4% unemployment by now—only 56% of college grads—20 new taxes—209,000 more unemployed—blah blah blah-blah, blah blah”lol. Nobody’s listening to your “Fox-facts”. They weren’t listening before. Not listening now.
All this Obama accomplished despite Republicans stonewalling every effort at remediation. Just imagine where we’d be if the Republicans actually made an effort at job creation instead of merely talking about it.
@rockengolfer,as a registered republican, the answer is obvious, no? make that white rainbow band bigger, and ELIMINATE colors from the democratic rainbow by restricting the rights of the pink vote (women), lavender vote (gay), the brown vote, the yellow vote and suppressing non-white votes whever possible. in the word of george c. scott in ‘dr. strangelove’ ‘you can’t condemn the whole program because of a single slip-up.’
it’s worked almost perfectly up till now (except with that clinton guy – and we distracted him with the unsuccessful impeachment trials).
When things get bad enough we shall return to Republicans to fix everything.**************************************************Yeah, we should return the Republicans to power - maybe they can fix the problems Bush caused (that Obama has tried, for four years, to fix - in spite of Republican obstruction)
republicans might be overwhelmingly white, but don’t make the mistake of thinking only whites are republicans. I am white and i am a small business owner and i am a registered republican who breathes a huge sigh of reliefe that obama won (with my vote).
the republican party has been hijacked by radical, puritanical religious zealots who are being milked by multi-national corporations that call themselves “small businesses”.
just be careful of the word only. If the republicans, through their intransigents, run us off the fiscal cliff, i think it will be great. the military-industrial complex might decide it’s ok to have social programs paid for if it costs them all their government welfare.
if the republicans run us off the cliff, they have ended themselves as a viable party.
White is the presence of all colors. It is also the color of innocence, purity, and friendship. In this case sadly, it is a lone ribbon bleached clean of anything that would have given it beauty, personality, diversity…The republicans ENDED segregation. A republican ended slavery. Now, republicans avoid legislation to give jobs or improve healthcare, or any of a thousand things that would help our people and our economy, in an effort to focus on how to block non republicans from voting and address “impossible” social issues. Other republicans, and sadly, some Democrats, are bringing back slavery by creating a corporate prison system that is partially funded by prisoners making things in prison shops. Ostensibly meant to make prisoners pay for their own incarceration, these people work cheaper than workers in China and take away such production jobs away from Americans. They have an interest in keeping people in jail in order to keep their stock value high. This is NOT the party of Lincoln. This is NOT the party of Reagan. It is garish caricature of a great organization from whom legendary names rose. And for my liberal friends who constantly accuse Fox of having a Republican agenda, do not be confused. Read up on Mr. Murdoch. Fox is on HIS agenda and currently, the Republican party is most closely aligned with his goals and is grateful for what help he gives them.Mr. Murdoch opposed laws restoring rights and land to aborigines in Australia and cares little about human rights.^http://johnpilger.com/articles/how-the-murdoch-press-keeps-australia-s-dirty-secret^I fear Mr. Murdoch is trying to guide the GOP down a path on which most of its supporters would not want to be.We have some very good people who write on behalf of the GOP. I hope they will also write TO the GOP as I do to the Dems and Republican representing me. Our parties need to be American first, and party members somewhere way down the line from there.Respectfully,C.
Data point: In the 4 years since the 2008 election, approx 10 million senior citizens passes away, the majority of them white. Also in those 4 years, 16 million teens turned 18, many of whom are biracial, African-American, Latino or Asian. Any strategist worth his/her salary can predict where this is going.
CDowns: Republicans ended segregation? Come to north-east Texas and I will show you it is alive – and has turned totally Republican since the glory days of Sam Rayburn and Wright Patman, who once represented all the people in Texas Districts 1 and 4.
Libs put their fingers in their ears and say: hope and change hope and change.;;And Reps stick their fingers in their eyes and refuse to see that things ARE changing, and that THEY aren’t
Exactly, LBJ was the one who lost his Southern support after ending segregation, to be fair, these things were put in motion as early as the Truman admn, and Eisenhower did enforce the school desegregation law in the Little Rock affair, but, in the end, it was Johnson who really put the stamp on the civil rights act.<< We Canadians know a lot about American history, helps us to avoid making your mistakes ;) (And no, I’m not saying desegregation was a mistake; it’s one of the USA’s more noble accomplishments)
This might shock you, but I firmly agree with you. That’s what happened when the incumbent won office. However, the GOP is very badly broken at the moment and lives in an alternate reality, so I really hope that they can be fixed. The reactions of Donald Trump and Karl Rove really exemplify how wrong and broken they are. The GOP was not always broken, so this foreigner hopes that they will get better soon.
My parents were the same, I may be “white” but, for me, Martin Luther King spoke for ALL men who were willing to listen to reason! (MLK is a personal hero of mine)
Just wondering if any people of color (other than white) leave comments here. the Dems ran a great campaign that concentrated on the exclusionary feeling of the republican platform.
Kind of sucks to be you right about now, doesn’t it? So angry, like a kid throwing a tantrum and thinking his world is coming apart because he didn’t get his favorite toy under the Christmas tree. Nothing left but to use the old “libtard” insult, which actually insults no one except the one using it. The reality is that the GOP and Romney would NOT have been able to wave a magic wand and make the disastrous economy they created go away, and if you were thinking rationally you’d be able to see it. It’s time to grow up, dry your tears, and work with people instead of demonizing them. We’re all in this together. Of course, now you’ll probably start calling me a Marxist, lol!
Time for the disappointed to wake up to the facts that 1) the GOP and Romney would not have been able to magically turn the economy around, 2) your world isn’t falling apart, and 3) the majority of voters just aren’t that into todays GOP policies. Time to put on the big boy and big girl pants, pick yourselves up, start working with people instead of demonizing them, throw the social radicals out of your party, and PLEASE keep your religion out of politics. The world is waiting for a sane GOP. It’s your job to build it.

He extended the Bush Tax Cuts so the Republicans in the House of so called Representatives would stop holding the credit of the US as a blackmail.
Even then, one of the three of the international credit agencies downgraded our credit from AAA as we were too slow to raise the debt limit.
Do make at least some attempt at reading history, you might just find it enlightening!
