One never really does forget one’s first love — that’s why the first love is always special, even though one’s true love may come along later.

Eventually you do start to forget and that’s when you won’t want to.

This is why I can’t forget Susan……even after being married to someone else for 35 years. Such is life!

Since the subject was brought up: three weeks ago I learned that the first gal I had romantically kissed had passed away. She never made it to age 40. Though that affair was decades ago, the discovery of her death was a shock.(Funny that I’d reveal personal info on a board with strangers. But I try to be careful about what personal info I reveal.)

We’ve seen so many Hallmark cards and Met Life ads. You can almost forget that nobody does poignant like Schulz did.

We all have that girl beagle in our pasts. They look nice sitting back there, but it’s best to leave them there. That way they’ll always stay that beautiful.

I remember as a kid, Snoopy had a crush for Peggy Flemming. For those of you too young to know, she was an Olympic Gold Medal winner in women’s figure skating in the 1960’s.

The great Canadian writer and humorist Gregory Clark once wrote the story of his meeting courtship and marriage to his wife and her eventual death call “May Your First Love Be Your Last.”

I wonder if the “girl beagles” I like to remember feel the same about this “boy beagle”?
