Dude, no.[]With Obama winning, I have no future.[]Employment? I’ll be stuck doing menial labor. The local economy is shaky as it is, and if he gets his way it’s gonna get even worse.[]Insurance? I’ll be branded a criminal for no other reason than being too poor to buy insurance. []Et cetra.
Grapes a little sour for ya,Immy? LOL!Here’s something to think about. All those hours ( you won’t get back ) that you, zoidknight, tigger, harleyquinn, and ScottPM spent trashing Obama and the Dems on this website and what did it get you? Nothing, Nada, Zip, Zero, Zilch. You like totally wasted your time. You lost, get over it.
I want to comment about how the “business” of getting people elected interferes with getting the best people elected.I want to continue expressing my concern that Citizen United is an unethical and immoral abuse of financial power that is even making CEOs feel comfortable threatening their employees with actions the company might take if a particular candidate is elected. However, I see the comments being made require a more important comment.Dear Liberal Commentators,The Democratic party is supposed to be the party of compassion, compromise, and social justice. STOP GLOATING!!! You not only make yourselves and other democrats look bad, you make those you need to stand with you even more angry and uncooperative than before. There will always be things on which we cannot agree, but if we are going to move ahead on things with which we do agree, we need to do so with Respect. If Romney had won, I would have been sad and concerned. I would have returned to these forums expressing hopes we would be able to work together over the next four years and I would congratulate the efforts our conservatives neighbors made to get their candidate elected. I did that when W. Bush was elected, and was prepared to do it now. Please treat your neighbors with the respect you want shown to yourselves. I hope Howgozit, Ansonia, Tigger, Ima, and others find the next four years to be less awful than they expect. If it is awful for them, it is most likely because it is awful for all of us. We need a bipartisan government and a united people.Respectfully,C.
For Simon_Jester: Did we lose or did the country lose? I betthe country lost a lot more than us republicans. But, hey…you get what you elect, so enjoy the high gasoline prices, high grocery prices, no jobs, lost income and homes…..but don’t come to me for help.
Of course I’m happy that Obama won, but I still believe that the Democrats have done a poor job of explaining to working people why liberal policies are better for them. Democrats should not be complacent. Especially since 48% of voters did not vote for Obama, and especially since there is going to be a lot of trouble getting good laws passed through this Congress. We need a sensible, balanced approach to dealing with the financial crisis — the debt is part of that crisis, but only part of it. We need to get people back to work. But also we need to have a really fundamental discussion about what kind of economy makes sense with an environmental crisis on our doorstep. We need some adult talk, rather than gloating or recriminations.
that was the whole point of this election to make Rove and those like him richer. he did not give one iota damn who won. I will bet Mittens made a buck or two out of it as well.
Look, Howdy, Either of two things will fix the economy. If the manufacturers who have mooved factories to India and China return them to the US or Congress repeals the tax laws which encouraged the factories owners to move. Maybe a WalMart change of heart on US manufactured goods would help Sam stop rolling in his grave too.
“liberal math”? Is this like the “new math” (based on the quadratic equation) that is taught in schools nowadays? Because that’s not the math system I learned in college….
I’m just guessing here, but I’m thinking that the multiple interviews and “special guest appearances” on Fox may have been lucrative. Also, he is a director of at least one SuperPac, Crossroads. All those guys do a lot of good, and so they have a good reason to be paid well. It may have been just chump change, like the $375K that Mitt got last year in speaking fees, but I would suspect there would be more zeros attached.

But imagine…six billion dollars spent overall this campaign season. Only to make a few TV companies richer.

They’re both winners. The 1% never loses.
They just won’t be able to steal quite as much the next four years.

The new GOP argument: Since 47% automatically votes democrat, Obama actually only got 5% of the vote. So Mitt should be the winner. Got it?
