Rube Goldberg anyone? Unfortunately there are already anecdotal reports of robo-calls telling people to vote by phone, and “officials” showing up at seniors’ houses where an absentee ballot has been requested, saying they were “authorized” to collect ballots for the Board of Elections.
There’s virtually no evidence of serious voting fraud at the ballot boxes, but a lot of evidence that the whole voting system is pretty antiquated. You would think that the US ought to be able to work out something more efficient and more reliable.
If your Limbaugh newsletter was trashed, maybe he should have authorized a better grade of paper for the cover! So much of mail processing is automated, from the publisher to the mailing provider (so many use middlemen to process, stuff, mail) to the Postal Service, that a flimsy front cover gets caught in the machines. I can’t count the times (yes. it’s more than once!) that my 401(k) statements and mutual fund reports are ripped up. Of course it’s always possible that your anti-union rants pissed off your mailman! If that’s what happened, SHAME ON HIM!
When I was a kid, we had a very simple machine for pressing clothing that makes me think of our current electoral process, and “elections”: it was called a mangle.

It’s easier for republicans to vote – they don’t bother thinking first.
