How does a storm supress votes? Last election the weather was nasty and we waited in line to vote for almost an hour.

Total non-sequitur there Steve. Senseless, just like blind liberals, and blind conservatives at that matter.

I was waiting for a televangelist to declare it God’s punishment for the East Cost for their sinful ways.

The problem is that when Democrats say it, it is obviously meant as a joke, a response to when televangelists and Republicans have made similar claims; the further problem is that when Republicans and televangelists say it, it is obviously not meant as a joke.

Pat Robertson hasn’t weighed in yet, as far as I can tell, but John McTernan seems to have the crazy covered.

“As I said, the Holy God of Israel is systematically destroying America right before our eyes.

Just last August, Hurricane Isaac hit New Orleans seven years later, on the exact day of Hurricane Katrina. Both hit during the week of the homosexual event called Southern Decadence in New Orleans!

Hurricane Sandy is hitting 21 years to the day of the Perfect Storm of October 30, 1991. I write about this in my book as America Has Done to Israel. This was the day that President George Bush Sr. initiated the Madrid Peace Process to divide the land of Israel, including Jerusalem. America has been under God’s judgment since this event. Both of these hurricanes were cause by freakish weather patterns that came together to create

Twenty-one years breaks down to 7 × 3, which is a significant number with God. Three is perfection as the Godhead is three in one while seven is perfection. It appears that God gave America 21 years to repent of interfering with His prophetic plan for Israel; however, it has gotten worse under all the presidents and especially Obama. Obama is 100 percent behind the Muslim Brotherhood which has vowed to destroy Israel and take Jerusalem. Both candidates are pro-homosexual and are behind the homosexual agenda. America is under political judgment and the church does not know it!"

    Etc., etc.

Not all Christians are crazy, but I always find it a bit disconcerting how many crazies glom onto the hard-core Christianity.

Tell you what; I just linked to a person who is claiming, in all obvious seriousness, that this storm is God’s punishment for America’s liberalism(!). And Pat Robertson became quite infamous for his assertion that Katrina was punishment for tolerating abortion and gays. And there are plenty of other examples. Which are all overtly, explicitly, utterly serious about their claims.

And yes, there are plenty of Democrats and Democratic-leaning commentators who pointed this out when the tropical storm threatened the GOP convention. (Stop for a minute and think what you would do if positions were reversed….)

But I defy you to find any Democratic equivalent of the spittle-flecked “GOD will KILL you” ranting linked there, as opposed to the “oh, the irony” comments.

“No, Dems can dish out “jokes,” but they can’t take any”

We took George W. Bush for eight years…

I look at the cartoon and it is pointing out a storm of voter suppression, not a storm of that causes voter suppression. Only r/w is causing a storm of voter suppression over specious assertions.

When my CBS affiliate finally dumped “Crazy Pat Robertson”, the Fox affiliate picked him up.

But of course the hurricane metaphor for Republicans trying to manipulate elections, by denying voters access, is pretty accurate with regard to destruction of our republic. Hmm, odd how it’s “Republicans” that can’t stand the concept of a republic any more.

Conservatives are happy to criticize moderate Muslims when they don’t object loud enough about the killings by Jihadis. It would be nice if occasionally they’d chastise the nutjobs in their own family.

repartee does not work with Radish as he is unable to participate, as that would require him to actually engage in critical thinking, something he has shown no ability to do thus far, no yourself based on your stupid and offensive comment concerning “magic underwear” which has nothing to do with any part of the previous discussions on this strip
