Democrats, Independents, and Republicans are suffering and dying from the storms hammering the North east and west to Ohio. Republicans and Democrats from all over the country are arriving in utility trucks and working side by side to save lives and restore power to people suddenly left in the cold with no where to go. Republicans and Democrats are sleeping together in shelters, resting on cots, or often on the floor, within a few feet of each other and being polite as they do so.I hope our legislature can learn from the example set by these people. If not, we will not be the country most of us were born in. History proves this. With prayers for those in harms way…And immense pride and gratefulness to the men and women responding to save lives.C.
Gee, every “big storm” causes new record damage, just as climate change models predicted, but hey, the “deniers” are smarter than those foolish scientists!
1.Whoever decided on the timing as to when to move the Bounty should lose his/her job. 2.We’ll need electricity to vote, because we can’t audit hand-written ballots if there is a question. Oh, wait, we can’t audit our most-modern voting machines either. Still, they’re better.3.I hope Mittens will provide a tax break for the poor insurance companies. They’ll have to spend millions finding ways not to pay claims as a result of the storm. (eg, after Katrina…“You’re covered for water, but your damage was caused by wind.” or “You’re covered for wind, but your damage was caused by water.” Lather, rinse, repeat.) They’ll need governement help instead of job-killing regulations.
