That brings back a few memories. I had to have my poor old Pickle dog put to sleep on Saturday, but lots of good memories ad pictures remain.

Two of my saddest days involved dogs and the school where I taught. Ruffie was obviously sick when I took her to the vet in the morning – and she had a “daddy don’t leave me, I’m scared” look. Shortly before I had to go and teach a two hour class I got a call from the vet – Ruffie had died. Not one of my better classes needless to say. The other was a stray that wandered into the school. I tried to find an owner to no avail. A few days later I took “little friend” (no name) to the Humane Society. Unfortunately he had an eye problem so the intake person said they would have to put him down. Understandably since they can’t place all the healthy dogs they get. Nonetheless I was pretty teary when I left, and she made matters worse when she wished me a “nice day.”
