And anyone who follows the issue knows those replacements for horses and bayonets are WAY over priced, and we still buy WAY more than we need.

Romney raised an intelligent issue about Obama “hollowing out” the US military, quoting the current Sec’y of Defense Panetta who warned about plans to cut, but Obama showed his nastiness with that rude and arrogant sneering response….Romney probably knows more technical details of what our military uses than Obama….truth= the US Navy does have fewer ships than is needed to carry out defense and other missions around the huge globe’s 7 seas. (horses and bayonets were used in the war to oust the Afghanistan Taliban—-maybe Obama was ignorant of that fact)

If the defense department is really that starved, maybe the GOP should have left them out of the sequestration deal. (The Dems had suggested the Bush tax cuts expiring instead, but apparently that that’s even worse than defense cuts to Republicans.)

Ima you continue to post and continue to remain nonsensical. One (negative) point for consistency and a 1/16 point for hanging in there.

Romney ran as a businessman with a plan to create jobs, lower the deficit, and not raise taxes. If elected to Commander in Chief, he will have to learn how to be a leader of warriors the way Obama did.I think Obama learned well. It is good when a man with the ability to end the world has patience, humility, and a willingness to listen to a diverse body of advisers.Shooting from the hip, or the lip, just makes it worse. Many of Romney’s current military and foreign policy advisers served under W. Bush, and their outlook on the world, from what I’ve seen on Fox, has changed little.Colin Powell has placed his support behind Obama for reasons with which I agree. The cartoon is unfair. One other note… bayonets may not be good in a firefight or against drones…but in trained hands, it can be real deadly.Respectfully,C.

I doubt if my critics will bother, but proof Romney was correct and Obama was in error can be read here=www.breitbart.com article 10/23/12 by AWR HAWKINS, columnist/blog…printed 2 pages of a longer blog commentary.“The US C-I-C misspoke about bayonets…horses…the size of the Navy….the makeup of the Navy….”“…USMC still trains Marines with bayonets…STANDARD EQUIPMENT…the Army has begun training with a new style of bayonets as a secondary melee weapon…1916 the Army had 100,000 to 140,000 enlisted (with bayonets)…in 2012 the USMC had 203,000 active duty and 40,000 reserve (using bayonets).…size of the fleet….Vice Chief of Naval Ops Adm. Mark Ferguson said sequestration “would cause a reduction in the size of the fleet….the Navy would be reduced both in size and in its presence around the globe.” …at the beginning of Obama’s term as prez…Navy’s goal was a 313 ship fleet by 2013…now Obama is talking downsizing…
