Cynical. It WAS offensive to any decent person to see a presidential candidate and his party use the deaths of four people for political gotcha point, especially after some of the families indicated they didn’t want this to happen.

Mrs. Smith, mother of one of the men killed, I know, wants a full accounting- NOW! – but she is the exception in the families. I hope her response has more to do with a mother’s sorrow than her desire to play the same political gotcha game as the candidate.

Ima, on 9-11-2001, “libs” (i,e. fellow American citizens who don’t happen to see the world through your point of view as a CON) were among those standing behind their (ours, too) president.

Too often, the faults we find in others are faults we have ourselves. I suggest you take a look at yourself and your candidate.

Who put out the statement before anyone even knew there’d been deaths, including the ambassador: Mitt Romney.

A purely cynical and self-serving political move on Romney’s part that made him look a bit unpresidential in m any eyes, perhaps some who’d pl;anned to vote for him.

Consulates and Embassies have always been soft targets. We have lost them before, and we will lose them again. If we want them to be open and approachable, it is hard to make them hard targets. It’s never been about the president.

As a serious candidate for Commander-in-Chief, it would have been held against Romney if he had not made a statement about the tragic news that 4 Americans were murdered by terrorists in Libya. -It is Obama and his administration that politicalized Benghazi. It is the top Obama leaders that did a 14-Day campaign spreading lies about the terrorist attack. That is the #1 reason to vote against Obama, IMO.-the GOP in Congress are doing their constitutional duty to investigate every detail and to find out why the White House and State Department failed to provide needed security….they had since Jan. 2009 to make sure Americans serving overseas in places made perilous by recent government overthrows. The Buck Stops at the Oval Office.

A journalist this morning said speaking the truth before an election is political suicide. Our system for filling elective offices has become so messed up. This cartoon is probably correct. I’m certain Romney asked his people the same thing about his comments. We deserve better politicians in the Executive, the Legislature, in states, cities and where judges are elected, on the bench.Respectfively,C.

The cynical part was Obama not coming clean that this was a terrorist attack for weeks.-——————————————————-The moderator called Romney on this lie on-the-spot, correcting him by saying that the very next day in the Rose Garden Obama referred to it as a terrorist action. That has been verified.

Having had friends and family in the situations like our embassies, in hostile places, and in even more hostile environments, and put at risk by cheap shots like Romney’s the night of the attack, and after, our “moderator” would cringe at the only language I would “rightfully” use to describe my views on Romney.

The ABSOLUTE ignorance of the American people regarding these incidents, or what President Obama was doing RIGHT in the circumstances, is disheartening, but the media, and right-wing politicos now demanding we endanger our people abroad, so they can score “points”, is even more disgusting.

Our local trolls here deserve a response, but they don’t respond well to either facts, or “suggestions” those responses based on facts, might entail.

Candy did the right thing, and Kelly’s ’toon is despicable.

Odd, criticism for doing the same thing others do. Debriefing is normal. I don’t think I could be convinced that mittens wasn’t doing something like this also.

the actual speech by Obama in the Rose Garden on 9/12/12 has been printed widely and shown on TV many times and quoted in articles…..Obama said that the Video was to blame for the violence in Benghazi in the 1st 4 paragraphs, then he talked about 9/11/01 and the deaths of Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan and then in paragraph 10 he said “no actS (plural) of terror will ever shake the resolve of this nation”….he did not even say the word “terrorism”…..and then Obama went out and did a 14-day campaign even unto the UN where he repeated the “video was responsible for outraged Muslims rioting and violence”….Ambass.Rice went on 5 TV news programs 9/16 and repeated the same LIE. -No, it was Romney 100% correct and both Obama and moderator Candy Crowley who lied. Obama to cover-up active al Qaeda terrorism in Libya and Crowley to protect Obama from having to answer Romney’s question.-IMO you posters upholding Obama are not interested in TRUTH. You are interested in defeating a Republican challenger to the WORST PRESIDENT EVER and you are doing your best/worst to demonize Romney/Ryan with lie after lie after lie.

Actually, the moderator apologized afterwards she said that Romney was mostly right._____________I must ask you to substantiate that statement. From what I’ve read, Crowley said in a subsequent interview that she was correct on both counts. Obama was in the Rose Garden the day afterward and referred to the “terrorist attack.” She did not apologize and she stuck to her guns..I’ll reconsider my judgment if you have a reliable source.

During the debate Crowley made two points:1) Obama, while holding a press conference about the Benghazi incident, referred to “acts of terror”; thus, Romney was wrong in his assertion.2) In almost the same breath, she said: “… but Governor Romney, you are perfectly right that it took weeks for them to get past the tape.”[]Impartiality required her to say that Obama was right by stating he called it an “act of terror” and Romney was right in stating that spokespersons for the administration got hung up on demonstrations that turned violent. She has not, contrary to some opinions, “apologized”! []Your post to dtroutma, where you call attention to the fact that our troops “were found innocent,” brought to mind the trial of O.J. Simpson regarding the murder of his ex and her boyfriend. He was found “not guilty” (the proper term) as well. (Just food for thought.)
