since there isn’t a whit of difference between mitt and obama on financial and policy issues, the only thing to vote on in this election is civil rights and character.

i TRUST romney to fill the binders in this cartoon.

    ZING!!!!

why he isn’t being called a flip flopper, i have no idea. if he was a democrat, the republicans would use that ‘flip flop’ term in every sentence uttered.

Right. It’s completely meaningless that Republicans constantly promise, and pass, more restrictions on legal abortion and contraception.

If conservatives get a majority in the Supreme Court, Roe vs. Wade will be repealed.

The binder of accomplished eligible women for appointed positions was not asked for by Mitt. It was given to him by a women’s organization. Lying once again.

FYI – there’s more to the whole “women make less than men” bit than just gender discrimination. There’s actually a whole host of issues at work, such as “women taking time out of their careers to raise their children” and “men being more likely to work overtime”. []Too bad too many people don’t want to take the time to research them out.

" this “binder thing is getting old.”Only because it’s not applied to Obama. You sure seem to enjoy repeating any negative analogy applied to Obama whether or not it’s factual.

The Republicans can afford to fly their mistresses and daughters to Canada or Europe for abortions. The poor will go to the beauty salons for the hanger treatment, just like the old days, out of desperation. Repealing the right to make a choice will only affect the middle class citizens, who are the ones that actually make moral choices.

There are multiple factors that influence how much money a person makes. For example, if a person works overtime throughout the year, they’ll earn more than co-workers who didn’t despite having the same rate of pay. []Too many people just look at the statistic, though, and figure that there’s rampant sexism going on. They don’t stop to look at the cause.[]And with me, my work is never done. Period. In any given day I have about 50 things I need to do, and am lucky to accomplish 5 – 10.

While I’m sure your heart is in the right place, an awful lot of this is outdated stereotype or outright bs. There is, in reality, a huge body of literature on gender and work — and the “process worker” vs. “results worker” just doesn’t (if you will pardon me) work at all.

Someof the gender pay gap can be explained by the nature of jobs, no joke. Part of the problem is that because there is an expectation at every societal level that women take on the bulk of child care, elder care and housework duties, women are more likely to take on part-time and lowskilled jobs; however, there is also a more insidious problem lurking behind that, which is that when any part-time or lowskilled job environment becomes dominated by women, the job becomes societally devalued and average rates of pay drop!

    http://www.stanford.edu/group/scspi/media/pdf/key_issues/genderresearch.pdf

All disparities of job type and hours aside, though, there IS still a pay disparity even when jobs are precisely the same. I work in IT, and believe me, it is rampant here.

That there is. Sweet hopping green jesus on a lilypad, I personally KNOW there is, because I’ve lived it. Our disagreement was over the fact that I thought you were defending that stance on the back of bad evidence/logic, but you have clarified what you meant, thanks.
