Ask the nuns about Ryan’s budget… he’s no Catholic at heart.

Regardless of their religious beliefs, they have no right to impose Catholic church dogma on the rest of the country. At least Biden recognizes this.

    I agree with apfelzra

Biden pounded Ryan on this issue. He stood up for his beliefs, but asserted the government has no business standing between a woman and her doctor. The Republicans have always underestimated women and Biden’s comment about potential Supreme Court appointees hit the nail on the head. Ryan had no response, except to ask if there would be a litmus test. Biden’s response was there wouldn’t. The question was not raised, but do you really think a Romney administration wouldn’t have a litmus test, particularly regarding abortion?

Joe and Paul both expressed their faith, while Biden demonstrated he’s actually read the Constitution.

As to the “choir”; Biden and Obama have both tried to orchestrate discussion, while Ryan and Romney both just produce “white noise”, with no recognizable points.

Religions need to stay out of politics. The zealots are very dangerous. See the Taliban and the Tea Party.

The BIden character isn’t amused, but he was on the debate. ,John Orr, you spoke well! And DTroutmas apfelza, and jase99,ans Rickoplis, and Justice .and Arodney all good points. Biden was the correct answer and he had a right to laugh at Ryan’s malarkey!

Myth Robme seems to be saying, “Give me total support and I’ll attend to everything and you’ll be happy; trust me.” Blind faith is not the cornerstone of democracy, it is the foundation of fascism. Doesn’t he realize that?

our American legal/law system is based on the Biblical principles of what is right and wrong in society…murder is a Bible no-no, and since life begins at conception any church is correct to oppose murder of the pre-born. --just as murder is against civil laws, abortion ought to return to the 200+ years of illegality. We impose Biblical laws against murder and theft and doing harm to others….we should be just as insistent on imposing laws against killing babies in the womb…..it is not imposing “religion”….it is imposing Moral Law.-Biden is a Cafeteria Catholic. He rejects full opposition to abortion, but likes the Catholic idea of government handouts to “the poor”….something the Bible does not teach as a government duty….God’s Word makes helping the needy a personal duty that can be extended to local church groups and no further….secular governments should not be intruding into charity or education, according to the constitution of the USA.

dt: our legal system is NOT “bible based”. If it was, jaywalking would be a capital offense, using stoning, period.

p.s. Our system goes back to the Magna Carta, and other eras providing for the rights of human beings, it just took nearly 150 years to catch up on granting them to women, and minorities.

I’m a big fan of Article Six in the Constitution, I wish “right wing” voters were when considering elections, and law.

^ Nobody likes abortions.-It’s not like any couple ever says “Hey, I know, let’s get pregnant, so we can have an abortion!”-One way to greatly reduce thenumber of abortions is to have greater use of contraceptives, whether through health care, education, and/or making them cheap or even free.-Republicans do not want this — at least not for those people. They think that pregnancy is the punishment for having sex and the woman should be forced to carry the pregnancy full term and give birth.-At that point, Repubicans are through with them — they now need to take responsibility for their own lives.

I can understand that some people are opposed to abortions — but I just can’t see why anyone would oppose birth control. I really think it’s morally wrong to be opposed to birth control. I’m not saying people have to use it if they don’t want to, but it should be easily available to anyone who wants to use it.
