Toles’ comment, “it;s been on for 32 years.” is right on. I tried warning people that we could not run big deficits and run up the National Debt without dire results. Also, that is when the ooutsourcing of jobs began.

The GOP will be unable to pass a budget until (a) they get the presidency, both branches of the legislature, and a fillibuster-proof majority in the senate, or (b) lose all three. Their guiding philosophy is that any idea that can supported by a Democrat as part of a compromise is corruption from the pits of hell, even if it’s a conservative idea (see Obamacare, Carbon credits, Race to the Top, the jobs bill). We have thirty years of data that cutting taxes doesn’t grow the economy (if it did, we’d be doing better under Obama than under any previous president going back to Coolidge), but cutting taxes is the GOP’s only idea. Oh, that and vastly increased politicians. Fortunately, the GOP is running out of angry white men…

I think Uncle Sam qualifies as an “elderly” driver. He’s been around for over 200 years.

It used to be, “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” Now it’s “The rich get richer, the poor get richer, and the middle class get screwed.”

It’s amusing to me that the Right Wing campaigns on a platform of “getting things done”, but the rich and corporations continue to be the beneficiaries of the GOP work ethic.

Meanwhile, the Left Wing says they will deal fairly witheveryone, but they continue to be sidetracked by extraneous social issues.

A viable third party is needed—one not run by Lyndon LaRoughe or Ralph Nader, of course.

$1,000 more for Medicare coverage is one of the Republican scare tactics. Here is the factMedicare Part B Premiums

The Medicare Part B premium is based on annual income and cost of coverage. The standard premium—the premium for most enrollees—applies to those with annual household incomes that do not exceed a set threshold amount ($85,000 in 2012 for single filers or married couples who file separately and $170,000 for couples who file jointly). The premium is set each year at a level calculated to pay for 25 percent of the average cost of coverage. For 2013, the projected standard Part B premium is $109.10, which is a 9% increase over 2012.* :

    Either:

    · We’re about to change lanes

    · Elderly driver with permanent right-turn signal

    · He’s commuting to his job in Romney. There are no jobs in Obama.

EVERY “shut down” of the government, and failure to pass budgets, bringing on “continuing resolutions” has been the result of REPUBLICAN belligerence, refusing to pass budgets.

Yes, if North and Reagan’s people hadn’t been interfering in Iran negotiations (with a promise of “Iran/Contra”) it is likely that the hostages would have been released earlier, and also likely we never would have seen Reagan occupy the White House, bringing on both military and fiscal disasters like Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and the ludicrous effort of “W” to promote “Reaganomics” with a vengeance..

Tigger, If you had a lick of sense, you would’ve known better than make that comment. I guess you never attended History class or you would have known that Carter sent in a force of Special Ops troops. A sandstorm caused a catastrophe with the loss of several lives. I didn’t know that Sadaam was ruling Iran at that time. Thanks for the info.

I am old.And I can spell “naive”. Unelected people run 90% of govt. operations, including the Soc. Sec. admin and Medicare. You should be grateful to the Dems. for both programs, You can thank the Republicans for our current wars.

Jack: “W” has killed over 5,000 American soldiers FOR NOTHING! but well, a personal grudge. He killed thousands of totally innocent people in Afghanistan, and Iraq. And that’s just for starters. Oh, right there’s that ignoring intelligence that sent two airplanes into New York, and another into the Pentagon.

Libya is still a war zone, and there are huge risks, especially when “bad guys” show up with RPG’s, mortars, and heavy weapons that even a lot more Marines couldn’t have stopped. Was there a screwup somewhere? Yes, when Bush ticked off the whole Arab world. Are the majority of Muslims involved? Well, considering they number over 1.5 billion, and only a few hundred, to a few thousand, are in Al Qaeda, it’s absurd to hold our position “W”, and current “right-wnger evangelicals” want. period.

Hey corARYAN- I think your handle says it all. Read the law. The panel is set up to provide info on best practices, decide what works best and promote that idea to the medical community and the public. Again, BY LAW, it cannot make live or die decisions.

@Night-Gaunt49What’s wrong with Nader is that he’s not electable. His consumer work is admirable, but it’s made him many enemies in the corporate world which make him a target of powerful interests. A third party system would be viable, if the right candidate were chosen, IMHO.

By the way, is that Yog-Sothoth that I see as your avatar?
