It seems like everyone focuses on Sesame Street. The focus should be on the small PBS stations who rely on the federal funds they receive to survive. A couple of the PBS stations in my viewing area are run by college students learning how to do the various jobs involved in running a television station.Take the $450 million out of the Pentagon’s $600+ billion.

Our tax dollars should not be funding an extremely left wing biased media organization. The Democrat Party should be funding it with their own money, as it’s their personal propaganda unit.

Another case of the nanny state we’ve created. Once on the dole, there seems to be no mechanism to shut it off, even if the recipient doesn’t want it.

1opinion, I used to watch it occasionally, for things like NOVA, etc., but it’s obvious from the vast majority of their programs, there IS a very left wing slant to PBS. I can understand how some of you lefties don’t see it, because you see Lenin, Mao, Castro, Pelosi and Reid as middle of the road. If PBS were to show any kind of unbiased objectivity toward conservatives, you people would be howling that they turned to the extreme right!

Stipple, are you talking about the far left reeducation camps, where students often graduate with very little practical knowledge, some struggling with basic math, reading, geography, history, etc., yet fully versed in the “progressive” arts?

And I agree with you- wrong is wrong. You lefties, however, never admit to being wrong, even when factual proof is shoved in your face. Just look at Obama’s DNC chairwoman, who was just caught in a total lie, and she claimed the newspapers misquoted her- yet video shows her saying exactly what she denies saying. You liberals have no shame, but I have to hand it to you, it is impressive how you cling to your lies and repeating them over and over, you do seem to get the sheep to believe you.

Dredpirate, I’ve been posting under this name for a couple years and long before that under other names. Of course, this site allows lefties to say ANYTHING and get away with it, but if a conservative says anything that makes a liberal upset, that conservative often gets kicked off the site.

But that’s typical of the way lefties operate. Their idea of “Freedom of Speech” is to allow anything they don’t disagree with.

Nigh-Guant49, since you think communism isn’t far enough to the left, you’ll never think Public Broadcasting is leftist, because by your standards, anything that doesn’t call for the destruction of the U.S.A. and the building of a Nanny State on its ruins, is too conservative.

But I clearly remember watching the election night of 2000, and seeing the PBS “journalists” in agony when Bush took the lead- some appeared near tears! They didn’t bother to even try to appear unbiased!

I’ve seen enough bits of PBS shows celebrating extreme feminism, pushing “alternative” lifestyles over traditional, being critical of any Republican while worshiping Democrats. They bash Christianity, while seeing Islam “diversity” that needs to be embraced.

Their “art” shows tend to be focused on far left, Occupy types. Their science shows are usually hosted by leftists like Alan Alda, etc. and clearly have a background political bias, when science should be purely about facts, not political opinion. Their travel programs tend to celebrate other cultures while often proclaiming how all others are superior to America. Years ago I loved shows like Masterpiece Theatre but they became showcases for extreme feminism, perversion and other ultra-liberal causes.

Finally, if Public Broadcasting is so conservative, why is it liberals flock to it and protect it, while conservatives hate it???

“It says nothing about funding multi million dollar enterprises or corporations that don’t even need the money!”So then why do massively profitable oil companies receive billions in government subsidies and tax credits? Why didn’t Romney highlight that funding as something to cut to reduce the deficit?

“What part of an Obama sti jobs stimulus package were they, Jase?? Even last year, the head of PBS said they really do not need government’s handout.”If you’re referring to the student run PBS stations in my local viewing area, they’ve been doing it for decades as part of community college education. Obama has nothing to do with it. While a few individual companies who produce for PBS (such as Children’s Television Workshop) may not need government funding, that has nothing to do with small, local public television stations. Massively profitable iol companies don’t need the billions of dollars they get in subsidies and tax credits. Why is that funding not a prime candidate for deficit reduction?

Eryx, very typically welfare state liberal of you. You equate Fox News, a private company, with Public Broadcasting, which takes OUR tax dollars and use them to fund a left wing propaganda effort.

American tax payers should not be forced to fund the Democrat propaganda machine.
