@imaI think that’s the point. If no one party has a clear majority, then the only way forward is to compromise and form coalitions. This prevents one party from hijacking policy, which I think even you can agree is contributing to gridlock. We cannot continue to kick the can down the road.
I would also like to remind all posters that it doesn’t help anyone’s argument to make the assumption that people who don’t think the way you do on one subject are always wrong all the time. Maybe Congress could learn this lesson as well.
We all know who was better prepped for the debate. The fact of the matter is Mitt is NO moderate & was sincere when he mentioned cutting funding for PBS. Assuming Obama wins reelection Republicans are going to have to work with him & stop stonewalling every proposal he brings to the table.
It matters not one wit what Mitt thinks and says. It’s what the big money interests who supported him and right wing ideologues demand that he do. One of his contributors or handlers (I forget who) said as much – “he just has to be able to sign the bills we put before him”.
He’s said what he would do: cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires, cut the safety net, privatize and voucher-ize everything in sight, spend trillions on the military, and if you’re paying attention, do nothing about the deficit.Because deficits don’t matter, unless there is a Democrat in the White House.
In his effort, Mitt auditioned for the cast of “South Park” today, he trotted out “Timmy” to show his “close personal relationship” with a poor disabled kid with cancer. Yeah, right.

The cheerleaders are acting more like Obamoids praising their messiah. Or are they all facing mecca?
