They didn’t forget their toothbrushes. They remembered they wouldn’t have to brush their teeth if they didn’t have their toothbrushes. They did forget their mother can buy new toothbrushes.

Anybody know who the kid’s father is?

This strip strikes me as one written from real life.

Let it all out, Tim. We’re here for you. As long as it’s funny, anyway.

It’s all about logical consequences. Pam could have secretly packed the kids old used toothbrushes. If they failed their assignment to bring their toothbrush, then produce the old ones. The old ones won’t clean as well, but it’s only for a few days.

That said, it is really hard to anticipate every stupid thing your kids are going to do/not do and arrange suitable non-fatal consequences. But if you can hit just a few, the results are wonderful.

Walgreen’s and Duane Reade have merged last year, there’s no escape.

Duane Reade WAS an NYC-based chain. They’ve now merged with Walgreen’s or vice-versa. CVS is here, too.

This is exactly my wife’s sister. A few months ago or so she stayed over and didn’t bring a toothbrush, fortunately we had an unused spare to give. Then a couple of weeks ago we took a trip together and sure enough had to take a trip out to the 24hr Walmart for a toothbrush. .She’s in her early 40’s.

Doesn’t Pam ever get out of that uniform?

I know nothing of these Walgreens or these Duanereeds. what planet do they come from?
