As dumb as Poncho is, he manages to constantly out-wit Chazz. Better stay away from cats, ferrets or parrots, Chazz.

Poncho, I think there are better things to do with your tongue. Just ask the boys down at the Pooch Cafe! Stay away from metal grills that have no hamburgers or steaks falling to the ground!

my squirrels come and beat on the window when their water bowl is empty…. so, mooning is not beyound their thinking…their tails say wonders.

I think the one squirrel just wanted to show him his nuts. Though you shouldn’t expose your nuts to extreme temperatures. You don’t want freezer burn on your nuts little squirrel.

Poncho can really talk; he doesn’t just “think” his dialogue like Garfield or Snoopy.
All of the animals in this strip can talk to each other these days, but apparently only dogs can talk to humans. Carmen’s cats don’t talk anymore, but in the early days of the strip they could, at least among themselves. However, the convention at the time was that the cats couldn’t understand Poncho’s speech, and he couldn’t understand theirs, but Fish was fluent in both Cat and Dog, so he could translate (it turns out “Meow” means “Bite me).
