Take away religion and all you have left is satire.

The problem is aspirations of grandeur limited by the reality of poverty and ignorance. In that situation, destruction and killing is the only way to make the world even notice they’re there. Like the child who misbehaves to get a parent’s attention because negative attention is better than none at all.

From Joshua, through the Inquisition, and nuclear war, why is it only Islam that’s blamed for intolerance and violence, especially as their faith is based on the same exact text as the other two, with the addition of the Quran. Does this mean Mitt will also start more wars based on his “additional text” noting that Jews and Jesus roamed the Great Plains??

So, you’re basically saying being Muslim is cool, provides value-add ‘cos it’s a religion. :-|

Adolph HItler was a Roman Catholic, raised that way, and never renounced the faith. While many Roman Catholic clergy DID help save Jews, and other folks, the Pope sat on his hands and did, well, nada.

You beat me to it; O. C. seems a little confused. Of course, religion will do that to you.

I noticed that four of the organized religions are there…. but what about the rest of the world? I don’t see a Protestant, someone from the various Native tribes around the world, nor any NeoPagans there at all.

^The Dalai Lama was forced to leave Tibet. Why couldn’t the Pope have just moved to Rio, or Switzerland, or Chicago, and left his castle??

I understand where you’re coming from, but as I noted, many Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and others DID “stand up” and risk their lives. The leader of (at the time) the largest religious group in the world, could have done, more.
