In 50 years (for me) I have paid into Social Security an amount of money that will not be recovered by me and my wife according to our life expectancy estimates. If that same amount of money were invested in Mobil Oil stock (now Exxon-Mobil) as the years went on I would now have 2.478 million and my monthly return would be almost $7,000 from the dividend without effecting the principal. Because fools like me have put up with paying and paying we have the society we have today. Now I have to listen to elected officials who have never done a honest days work tell me its a entitlement.
This one deserves another Pulitzer. Its spot on Michael.
So access to free heathcare is not a right? Every country in Europe has it, but the USA should not have it? Our corporations are forced to pay large parts of this, it makes them non-competitive in the world, since other countries’ governments pay healthcare, but that is OK?
@99%….there has always been access to healthcare and no one has a “right” to FREE HCARE. So Europe (had) it…look at the members of EU going down the tubes, out of funds!!Our Founders did not set up a Welfare State….our government is supposed to defend us from foreign enemies, keep our streets safe, arrest criminals and jail them after a fair trial, and generally let individual states make rules for things like roads & insurance….but Liberals/Progressives have sabotaged our Limited Government to give federal bureaucrats POWER over our wages, our resources (to prevent use), every kind of business, and have invented FREEBIES as “entitlements” to create a nation of serfs indebted to Big Government. That is not Liberty or Freedom….government was not intended to be Provider, or Santa Claus….or to borrow America into bankruptcy.
All she says is applicable to “W”, and the right wingers. The only difference is our wars were supposed to be the “free stuff” because Iraq was going to pay for the wars, remember Mr. Cheney’s words, and President Bush’s?
I became an American by choice, as opposed to by an accident of birth..I am a proud American, but as I see it turning into 0bama-nation, I no longer recognize the America that was once the envy of the World . . . . . we now seem to aspire to poooop-nations of the World. .I escaped Leftism of Europe, only to be confronted with the scourge again . . . in America..
So…this would be a commentary on recent poll results, perhaps? Results that indicate what – that eligiblevoters are ignorant? Greedy? Too ignorant and/orgreedy to make rational ( legitimate ) decisions?Gosh, what a dire turn of events. No need to aimany satire at politicians anymore, I guess. Let’sjust cut to the chase, eliminate the middle man,and target the voters.Yeah, that’ll work.
“If you had been born earlier you could have escaped the fascism of Europe. Perhaps if Mitt gets elected you’ll get a chance to run from his politics.”.Fascism is ideologically aligned with Leftism and fundamentally incongruous with American Conservationism, as being in conflict with the American Trinity..Left of course believes its own propaganda, making Fascism a ‘right-wing’ political system . . . .

Brilliant Commentary on the entitlement mentality that pervades todays culture.
If you are living off what is being put in the trough, you shouldn’t get to vote on how much is put in the trough.
