I wasn’t sure about it at first, but this strip is growing on me week by week. But the freakishly huge lettering is still an aesthetic turn-off. Word balloons need some margins.
Thanks for all the comments over the weekend, everyone. I had some celebrating to do for birthdays and such, but I’m back and soon enough you’ll see two MORE months of archives in the Beardo catalog. They’re uploaded, I’ll announce it when they officially get processed!
I’m not saying that anyone has to conform to my standards. I’m just expressing my dislike of one aspect of the strip. I think the balloons look too crowded, and would look more pleasing if there were margins. Fewer words per panel would be another way to accomplish that. As for readability, I’d agree if I were reading Beardo in a newspaper, but on the computer I can enlarge any strip with just a couple of clicks.
