In case anyone’s interested, a more accurate vernacular translation would be “for sure”. “sooth” is an antiquated synonym for “truth”.

Reminds me of a movie assigned by instructor for Comp II “Freedom Writers” 23-year-old young women assigned to work with gang teens and troubled teens and how she reaches out to students and gets those students to open about their lives and troubles.

I’m friends with one of my teachers…perhaps frenemies would be a better term…in my case, listen to your student—she cares. And she will not stop bugging you, so you might as well.
