It’s win-win.The court get to keep the bail money, and won’t be spending money on the trial. The “client” gets out of town. And the credit card vultures get stuck with the bill.

The court only gets to keep the bail money if he skips out, if he shows up for his trial, convicted or not he gets the money back. Problem is if they refund it back to the credit card then he loses his points, he’d likely have to pay it off though since trials can take months and then the court refunds it back to him.

For those of you who don’t know, bail money is used to pay bounty hunters who catch people who skip out. The idea is you pay your own hunter to come get you. If the police catch you, the court gets to keep it all.
