Clear Blue Water by Karen Montague-Reyes for March 25, 2020
Eve: I wish I lived in the 1950's. Nuclear families, no teen pregnancies, innocence... Manny: Inequality, segregation, lynching...oooh yeah, lots of love and goodness in that era. Eve: Then I wish I lived in the 1800's. Wide open spaces, prairies, covered wagons...a real sense of community! Manny: Slavery, broken treaties, Civil War - oh yeah, I'm there. Eve: Then I'm glad I live now. Equal rights, conveniences, medical breakthroughs - a great time to be alive! Manny: Terrorism, recession, war, global warming, extinction...yeah, great time to be alive all right! Eve: Then I wish I lived 100 years in the future. Ha! Flying cars! Vacations in space! Robots... Manny: Overcrowding! No forests, no wildlife, no ozone...like cancerous rats in a too-small cage, we'll battle it out for our 5x5 alotted space!! Man, I love this game!
