If that’s a legitimate poll, that is disheartening. The Republicans have manufactured a crisis out of thin air and have already harmed the economy. They are despicable and should be run out of Washington.

So many Americans believe in the myth of a debt ceiling?

The administration proposed closing tax loopholes and establishing a baseline for taxes on billionaires, many of whom pay less than you and I. Mushmouth McCarthy and hus Far Right masters, in turn puppets of the fascist-leaning oligarchy, say absolutely not. What a putrid charade.

Just another case of the GQP Chicken Cult holding America hostage instead of actually thinking about not having GQP presidents run up trillions in debt and maybe making the stupidly rich pay taxes like the rest of us do

And who made and past the tax laws with the built in loopholes? BOTH sides of the isle in Congress and whomever the President is. The biggest loopholes for the most affluent never get reported to the public.

Sounds like a good idea. After all, we’ve been doing it when the Repubs were in power: raise the debt ceiling, cut taxes for the uber wealthy.

FREEZE all salaries of ANYONE in the Legislative, Executive or Judicial branch of the Federal Government for 5 years.

Cut the Defense Department’s Budget a flat 15%, as they are the biggest money wasters in the entire Country.

Eliminate Tobacco and Soybean subsidies to farmers.

Eliminate the “War on Drugs.” It’s never worked, and all it is is a waste of money that is making the Latin American Drug Cartels rich.

And here are some ways of generating more revenue for the Federal Government.

Eliminate the Tax Cuts for the rich passed by the Heffalumps to please their corporate owners.

TAX THE CHURCHES for more revenue. All they are are PACs nowadays.

And these are just a few suggestions…

Most Americans believe in paying their and the countries debts. Only deadbeat Repubs believing in defaulting on the USA’s and their own debts.

14th Amendment makes it clear that this Republican fed crisis shouldn’t exist at all.

If Repubs default on the USA’s debt, it’s their fault people lose jobs, their homes, the economy tanks, etc.

So, invoke the 14th Amendment, let the Repubs sue. Granted they’ve stacked the Supreme Court to do their bidding, but I’m not sure even they want to overturn an actual Amendment. At least, not at this time.

Sad that a significant number of people doesn’t understand how the debt ceiling works.

Lying Republicans say its your patriotic duty to give up your Social Security so rich people can get welfare tax breaks.

If the rich are already rich they don’t need the money. Let them keep it and require they invest It and create new jobs. All those 8 million migrants Joe let in are going to need jobs.
