Egad! That’s terrible. Or it would be if approval numbers meant anything in the real world. Though I do agree that politicians aren’t all that enamored of the real world… and thus are more interested in approval numbers than they deserve.
Big hint: If that job is run as a popularity contest like Dolt .45 tried, it ends up as a train wreck and an attack on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights especially, and even on the ideals of the Declaration of Independence. We don’t need an oligarchy and a crap ton of cronies to clean up the crapstorm the Bulbous Buttwhistle left, what we need is to do things to benefit the average Americans in need and even more to actually help those who are hurting. Tax the crap out of the wealthy and the corporations who have paid nothing in taxes for years. Nobody who makes under $400,000 a year will feel it but the fat cats who’ve been leeching off of the rest of us will. And guess what? Their turn to feel it & pay up is too long overdue. The free ride for the rich stops here.
Biden has a rock solid base disapproval of 40 – 42%(that would be the same folks that gave trump a solid 40 – 42% approval regardless of what he did or didn’t do). Biden could cure cancer, fix the environment, provide a steady and stable economic growth of 20% a year, and give everyone rainbows and lollipops and that 42% would still claim he’s the anti-Christ and stole the election. The fact that an additional 6% of the public, most of whom watch 10-15 minutes of news per day at most, have decided they’re not thrilled with his job so far is really pretty inconsequential. And as pointed out above the results are very much influenced by who is asking the questions, who they are asking them of, and how they’re phrased. So far his biggest mistake was thinking that the afghan government and armed forces WOULDN’T collapse like a snowman in July. I would be a LOT more worried if his disapproval rating reached a steady 55-60% meaning a good slice of the middle 40 had turned on him.
It is time for the Prez to stop being a “NICE” guy, take off the gloves and lead the Dems to a victory with the humanitarian plan. Get the sides to put out numbers on what in the plan they want to keep, then add up the “wants” and put that out as the cost of the bill. Then show how the bill will be paid for in taxes on those that have avoided them for years. Then get all the Dems out in the states with bullhorns and talk up what the bill does for everyone and the fact it doesn’t add to the deficits. Hopefully, when the people see that the bill covers all the wants and needs they have asked for, they will support it and the Dems in 2022.
As started on claytoonz.com, people weren’t enthusiastic about Biden himself, any enthusiasm was about getting rid of Trump. But IMO Biden has done better than expected. Biden has a LONG history of being a big corporate supporter (e.g. he’s a big part of why credit card companies are incorporated in Delaware) that he seems to have gotten away from. Sure there have been problems, but considering the mess that Trump left behind, there has been more success.
With that low bar set by Trump why am I not surprised Joe tripped over it. Biden is cratering right now and only the true Democrat Sycophants still dream Crazy Joe is doing a good/great job.

Keep taking the tough stance. If Lincoln had wanted approval, we’d still have slavery.

Right and wrong are all too easily assigned in a binary political system with only two inflexible choices.

For an old, second choice guy, he marches right along, and gets done what can be done. Not great, but the best in recent memory.
