He is the shining light that proves democracy and freedom of speech are alive and well. Had he opened his mouth in this way against the regime in Russia, he might have encountered polonium pollution! Still, the rest of us have the freedom to send middle digits his way by way of an appreciative gesture! :-)
Media conglomerates need to be broken up. The 1996 Telecommunications Act allowed Fix and Sinclair to buy too many TV stations. It negatively affected music also; local radio stations used to choose their own music and now conglomerates use marketing to play the same music across all of their stations. We used to enjoy listening to the radio on road trips to get the local perspective but that doesn’t really exist much anymore.
Faux News That Spews is a good way to test your gag reflex and the length of time you can tolerate something that is repulsive and highly offensive to the senses.
Put on the channel and start the stopwatch to find out how long you can last until you grab a barf bag. Take notes on possible ways to quickly recognize, endure and eradicate Fascism and extreme right wing propaganda.
Personal record is 47 seconds so there is a chance I can break the minute mark this year. I am hoping that my findings can be used by others if I succumb before 2024. It’s for the cause.
Admittedly the dictatorial type of sabotage ongoing in AZ against our democratic processes now is an attempt to chip away at our immune systems. More legitimate news organizations have to keep a light on that authoritarian effort and the many more that will be coming at us.
Isn’t everything spewed from Tucker Carlson mouth is asked as a question? (Like I just did) That way he’s NOT making a false statement that’s a lie or can be sued for libel. It’s the viewer who affirms the lie in his or her own mind. Any attorney worth hiring would tell you that . . . and then there’s Rudy Ghouliani, right?
That “Freedom of the Press” thing is bringing the United States of America to its knees. And.. as trump stays out of jail it will only get worse. That yellow t*rd needs to be exposed for the fraud he is.. before it is, truly too late.
I’m wondering if a proof of non-vaccination card is now in order. I need a license to operate a motor vehicle, a permit to carry a weapon, continuing education to practice my profession (before I retired, at any rate), and so on. People need proof of vaccination for several activities, so proof of refusal should also be required if for no other reason than to permit health care officials to know who and what they’re having to deal with.
One of the leaders of the old U.S.S.R. said that capitalists will sell themselves the rope they use to hang themselves. Can’t restrict the 1st Amendment so one has to hope that people actually read and watch informed sources, not RW partisan ones.
Editorial pieces, opinion TV shows, and social media should not be mistaken as serious factual news. Anymore they all are nothing more then personal political platforms for celebrities and just entertainment for their following extremists.
Hypocrisy and lies are the default settings, the established standard, and explicit practice of the Republican party. No one should be surprised at this by now. Everyone should be waving placards reading “GOP: lies and hypocrisy—standard practice.” And ignorance, let’s not forget the GOP’s persistently proud ignorance.
According to a judge ruling in favor of the Fox News lawyers, Tucker Carlson isn’t a journalist or member of the press; he’s a highly paid infotainer commentator. LMAO! But unfortunately, his audience is large and full of morons.
Unfortunately we are torn between evil liars and censorship. I, for one, am unwilling to choose outright government censorship. That leaves it to the people themselves to censor. Is this a conundrum or what?
They are the mainstream equivalent of The National Enquirer – telling lies and fiction, but using real people’s names. “Made pregnant by the Ghost of Elvis Presley…”. Don’t forget to add something just as stupid, like “, on top of Mt. Kilimanjaro!” Lady, how did you and the ghost of Elvis get your bed to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro? etc. etc. yada, yada, yada.
