I look at the comments on most of the gocomics site. The hate speech is overwhelmingly one sided by a ridiculous margin. Don’t believe me, go from comic to comic and take notice for yourselves.

FaceBrick makes $Billions by selling eyeballs. And information about how people react to various things. They have discovered that when allow their product… I mean users to interact with a large emotional component, they stay online longer, see more pages with more ads, reveal more about what they are willing/wishing to purchase, etc. And the very easiest emotion to provide is antipathy (“hate lite”) which they can do simply by giving a wide audience to folks who promote hate. If their product.. I mean users choose to slide over into actual hate, or even act on such emotion, that’s not FB’s doing (they will argue). Similar considerations apply to conspiracy theorists, vaccine lies, etc.

So it’s no wonder that they continue to do what makes them scads of money while lying about doing something to ameliorate it.

I’m sorry for repeating myself, but it’s not the social platform but the people who use it. Like a gun. It’s not going to fire itself.

If it wasn’t Facebook, it would be something else. We are attacking the messenger, but ignoring the message and it’s source.

I got off FB after the election and have never regretted it. I used to use it another way to stay in touch with my kids, but they’ve all stopped using it as well. FB has far outlived it’s usefulness.

Fb is a contributing factor to terrorism, human trafficking, and other lewd and dangerous sites that promote evil.

Hate pays. Outrage pays. Fear mongering pays. Unfortunately while FB, faux news, and the rest of the right wing hate machine profits…WE pay.

The ‘strip should have included stupidity because a person has to be really stupid to believe everything posted on a website that is open to the world’s population. For example, 1+1=3, Donald J. Trump is honest and the COVID-19 pandemic will just disappear.

Odd position for a lot of cartoonists today.. jumping on the ills of FB while.. essentially encouraging the same with provocative cartoons.

I thought Facebook was a hero for de-platforming Trump. It seems now the left is turning on its own.

Z is now using the same defense as the Fat Orange Clown while claiming he welcomes review and criticism; it’s the media’s actions that is creating the problem without justification. He has probably been persuaded by his lackeys not to yell “fake news”.

@Ken 2049 above was whining about all the mean comments by “the left”.

Both Sides Don’t, of the “Let’s Go Brandon” edition, with right wingers (including #45 himself), selling vulgar T-shirts with that meme belies that whine.

When chants of “F&ck You, Biden” — probably the real version, not the suitable-for-airplay version — break out at every tЯц☠p Nazi-style rally in 2023 and 2024, as well as during his threatening nomination acceptance speech at the convention, I’m sure we’ll hear the Both Sides crap by reaching deep into the past to find far-flung examples of liberal/lefty vulgarity (De Niro, Eminem, the Fish song). They’ll still be saying tЯц☠p and his fan base “have to go a long way to match” the libs, because bad things are always somebody else’s fault.

So Ken, when a so-called “conservative” artist paints his yellow-journalism brush by accusing Democrats of a non-existent crime, for example, saying K-12 schools teach Critical Race Theory, then we’re supposed to be “nice” about pointing out the obvious falseness of that claim?

    Both Sides Don’t:

    - Give death threats to school board members, election workers, members of Congress and their families

    - Pass hundreds of voter suppression bills

    - Call for the overthrow of government, by legal insurrection or violence

    - Refer to human beings as “illegals” and put migrants into for-profit concentration camps

    - Endorse weird conspiracy theories to kill as many people as possible during a pandemic

    - Ignore empirical truth and factual data to keep their constituents ignorant

    - Ban words, books, and phrases, while muzzling and persecuting scientists and doctors

    - Give the Medal of Freedom to a man who devoted his life to spreading bigotry, cruelty, and hatred

    - Pardon indicted and convicted fellow co-conspirators, while corrupting entire departments of government to protect his friends and attack his political enemies

    - Deliberately kill – and is still killing – hundreds of thousands of people for political idiocy

    - Ally themselves with extreme right wing Neo-Nazi and White Supremacist militias

Finally, #BothSidesDont push the “both-sides-are-EQUALLY-bad” memes, because only one side improves in that light.

So, I suppose if the Astros win Game One of the World Series 26 – 2, then “conservatives” would declare a “Tie Game” because (after all) Both Sides scored runs?

They tend to ignore that it’s a matter of DEGREE when gauging the quantity and egregiousness to compare flaming bags of poo with bonfires of books.

At a speaking event in Idaho, a tЯц☠p supporter asked right-wing activist Charlie Kirk up on the stage about endorsing outright violence against Democrats. “When do we get to use the guns!?” he demanded. “When do we get to start killing these Democrats who stole the election!?” to applause and chants of “Yeah! Yeah! U-S-A! U-S-A!”

Search argument When do we get to use the guns

…for links to multiple videos and reports.

And Ken wants to know why we’re not being NICE to those who want to be our executioners and murderers? Seriously!?
