If all of the laws and regulations that both parties allowed to expire starting in the days of Ronnie had been kept in place we would not be in the mess we’re in today.
I’m surprised so many people remember these statues… or do I just hang out in the wrong neighborhoods? Funny thing, my uncle actually did have one and actually did paint the face pink because he actually did think the thing was racist. (If I remember right, his wife wanted to buy the thing because they had managed to make enough money to build a house big enough so it didn’t look silly.)
“They painted the Hispanic and Asian guy the same color.”#Yes, and the Hispanic and Asian are in back, mowing the lawn and tending the flower beds.#This must be Mitt’s estate: as Mitt ties his horse in front after a long ride.#If this is supposed to indicate a stop on the Underground Railroad, as on commenter suggests, the final stop must be one of the gulag concentration camps setup by the KKK.
Every Tom, Dick, and Hairbrain had one of those in his yard up thru about the 1940 (when the flamingos took over). Of and by themselves they proved nothing. If, and it’s a big if, any signal ever was attached, it would be the signal, not the jockey, that was of importance.
As usual the right wing spreads half truths. The KKK was created by Southerners who hated the Northern Liberals for destroying their land and lifestyle. They hated the Blacks because they helped keep the Northerners in power. Today it’s the same ultraconservative fighting the liberals who still have the support of the vast majority of Blacks. The only change is that about 60 years ago the liberals and conservatives switched parties. I expect you know all this, but typical of the right wing you choose to ignore anything that doesn’t fit your story line.
Hey, holding horse for the wealthy can lead to great things. According to tradition, Shakespeare’s first job in the theater was holding patrons’ horses outside the Rose.

Don’t forget why the Underground Railroad was NEEDED. We will live with the aftermath of slavery forever.

You are simply not worth the effort. Empty buckets make the most noise.

You’re right. We’d have gotten into it even faster.
