Rooting against our Olympic team? Noooooo, that would be unpatriotic. (Besides, our favorite ahtlete is a Romney tax deduction)-Sitting out the Viet Nam war in France, fund raising instead of joining the military for a war that you’re all in favor of (like Willard’s sons)? Now that’s patriotism!-It’s good to see a cartoon explaining McConnell’s Republican strategy in a form that even Fox ‘News’ viewers can understand.

I don’t know about rooting against our Olympians, but I seem to remember celebrations on the right when Obama’s home town didn’t get picked for the games a few years back.

Does MItt’s dressage horse also have “hoof in mouth”? Should they both be put down, or like Cosby said, will he just wipe that foam off his mouth?

We NEED to have corporate thievery totally eliminated by strict laws about that and perpetrators tossed in jail with life sentences, and not “country club” prisons. We NEED to take a look at saying or doing is traitorous and enforce that. Helping the economy fail doesn’t and hatred for the government are the job of enemies, not patriots! How can the people not see this? how could they even think of putting a corporate raider, a VULTURE capitalist in Office? Even if they intensely dislike Obama, or even just don’t like the idea of a black man in office, they should see the greed and psychopathic behavior of Romney and the

Calling out argumentative words during a presidential speech would never have, and never should, happen. If that kind of thing happened at W Bush speech that person would have been taken out of there so fast that He wouldn’t have time to say one more word.A true patriot would make it so hard for the poison pushers like Monsanto to exist, and of course work together FOT THE PEOPLE!

Considering Obama was about 6 when Vietnam started and 14 when it ended, I fail to see the relevance. Unless you wanted him drafted for Grenada?

“Sitting out the Viet Nam war in France

What branch of the US military did Obama or Bill Clinton serve in,I forget?"

Neither served in the military. Neither one was a hypocrite that fervently supported the war, as Willard was.-Bush, who the Republicans never mention, was not only a draft dodger, but lied us into the war in Iraq. I am reminded of this every time I see a young man with a missing limb.-I really am at a loss to figure out why people would be a big fan of a ChickenHawk.-In case you missed it, Willard was a fervent supporter of the war in Iraq and a strident critic of the troop pull-out.

With respects, I think alcors3 was trying to be balanced. Perhaps the word ‘commie’ was meant as short-hand for extremist left?

‘I can’t imagine that anybody on the right REALLY feels this way.’-Morty, I realize you are trying to look at this from a reasonable point of view. You’re right, that it does not seem reasonable that Republicans would root against their own economy.-The smoking gun is all the filibusters Republicans have used. No appointed Federal judges have been allowed to be voted for yes or no approval. -I don’t remember the details, but during the health care debate, seven Republicans sponsored an ammendment. Obama announced support for the ammendment and the Republicans immediately withdrew support and announced that the ammendment would be filibustered.-I know it’s hard to believe that a party would sabotage its own country’s economy, but that’s exactly what the Republicans have done and continue to do.-The cartoon is, in fact, extreme — but it’s accurate.

“Capitalism was built on, and depends on, slave labor”?

If that were true there would be zero unemployment in any country that espoused Capitalism. And, need I mention, those who do have “jobs” in a Capitalist country, are paid a wage? Last time I looked, slaves do not receive any compensation for their labor. If you think there is no difference between abject slavery and gainful employment, try “working” in North Korea. I’m sure the “Dear Leader” can use another “worker”.

I am not sure I understand your comment. I am union too, and proud of it. However, due to the high unemployment among other factors, the unions are not doing as good a job at protecting us from exploitation as they once could. I sympathize with you about your physical problems. Lots of my co-workers have stress-related illnesses. Cheers.

Further on that, and with respect: Unfortunately, I am in a type of work that does not allow me to move from one employer to another without (in nearly every case) starting over again at the bottom of the pay scale, no matter how skilled I am. It amounts to feudal serfdom. By staying in one place, I get some job security, and due process in disputes or in force reduction situations, but I can’t move to another location and still support my family. All I’ve ever asked for in my more than quarter century is fair treatment. I’ve exceeded my contract in every way possible, trying to do an excellent job, along with my brothers and sisters in our unit. Our rights and the respect given to us have been eroded. We’re still waiting for the fair work environment of which you speak.
