Such pilferers exist, and no box of chocolates is too small to get their attention. I worked for years in Barnes and Noble stores. When we started selling Godiva chocolates, the samplers struck. It could be a small box with only four truffles. They’d open them and unwrap… and presumably eat a single chocolate and leave the rest. Of course, that rendered the whole box unsellable.

Actually, the perp is a chocolate sampler. The cereal sampler is over on aisle 2.
