There isn’t really anything useful to do to “fight” this kind of inflation. Prices of some key things went up because of – real reasons. The government can focus on helping the people who need help the most not go under, without making the inflation too much worse. In the bill here are some good things to help against climate change, but not nearly enough (thank you Republicans and just a few “Democrats”) It’ll slow it down a little, but not nearly enough. Bok is, like always, just spinning the Republican world view.
The new bill makes the largest investment in combating climate change in U.S. history, lowers the cost of prescription drugs, and raises taxes on corporations. All things Bok and his conservatives absolutely hate. It isn’t just about undermining everything Liberal and Democrat for the Republicans, it’s also their fervent desire to make America another North Korea.
Because Republicans have taken the bull by the horn and addressed inflation and climate change after they tackled affordable health care for all, infrastructure, voting rights, etc….
It’s just the usual Democrat tax and spend bill. They love to spend others hard earned dollars, don’t care what they spend it on, just spend. Kind of like a teenager with daddy’s credit card.
There are no instant fixes for problems whose roots go back many years. No President or Congress has the power to snap their fingers and say abra-cadabra and everything will be made right. Are you listening Chip?
Both these panels reflect the need for immediate gratification. This act will reduce inflation and global warming, but not right away. But, folks, we have to start somewhere. The climate change part of the act was watered down considerably, but it’s way better than nothing. And its a starting point. Too, too long we’ve done next to nothing. It’s time for a change. And, we have so much left to do.
Given how unattractive and stupid that couple is, it would be a good thing if the climate conditions prevent them from having their progeny live on too long into the future.
Magas prefer political grandstanding and talking-point BS like the hoary old “Tax and Spend” accusations to kill legislation that actually helps people.
Case in point: Mississippi Maga governor Tate Reeves returned millions of dollars in renters’ aid to Washington. Thumping his chest, he proudly declared “We are ending RAMP, a federal program that incentivizes people not to work by using taxpayer dollars to pay for up to 15 months of free rent and utilities.”
RAMP is the Rental Assistance for Mississippians Program, funded via Democratic Covid-19 economic bills passed in 2020 and 2021. It helped more than 36,000 households survive the pandemic and distributed more than $200 million in aid. MS was still processing 17,000 applications when they were cut off at the knees by Gov. Reeves. He really doesn’t care if children go hungry, fall into poverty, and families and the elderly are evicted and living in the streets. It’s the Principle of the thing, after all.
Like He1l. It’s all about the cruelty, after all. Mississippi is the poorest state in the nation, and is leaving hundreds of millions in unspent funds behind. More evidence that Magas will vote and cheer for political charlatans who will rob them blind or even kill them.
Credible scientists have known about the possibility of global warming for over a hundred years. I’m not a scientist, but I first learned about it in 1959, when I was ten years old. Our understanding of the implications has increased over the last couple of decades, and it’s clear that we are in big trouble if we don’t act quickly.
From the The Conservative Lexicon, the term Controversial means an adjective applying to any fact or set of facts that Conservatives don’t want to believe. Examples: evolution and Climate Change. Once facts have been labeled controversial, stating them as facts is evidence of Liberal Bias, and can thus be dismissed as “Junk Science” or “Fake News”.
Bok is just prostituting his professional services to the right-wing fringe that denies reality. Sometimes you just have to shuck your moral conscience to do that for the short-terms gain of getting a paycheck. He probably doesn’t think his misinformation contribution doesn’t matter, but (guess what?) it does. Just look at Vet 43’s post says.
I do wish the media would do stories on how china is dumbing lithium, cobalt and nickel while using slave labor to build them batteries. But hey that goes against the left’s narrative.
40% of farmers are destroying crops and thinning herds because of drought and heat waves caused by global warming. This is what is causing prices of food to rise. So there you have it. Global warming is causing inflation. Thanks to you friends Chip.

You’re trying to slow a major economic trend, not shooting up heroin. It will take time.
