If you read the analysts’ reports on Putin, it seems, very unlikely there will be a coup or assassination. Anyone even remotely/insignificantly threatening Putin’s power is imprisoned or exterminated. The only thing that has deterred war for decades was the perception that the American people were indivisible defenders of democracy/freedom/justice and would back their leadership. Now willful, irrational, hateful, hyperpartisanship has weakened that resolve. Russia, China, North Korea, Syria, et al are well aware of it. If the war becomes global and the world survives … the new pecking order will be very different, and not very good for the ununified.

Biden’s comment which has attracted so much attention was not part of his formal speech.

More importantly, Biden has reaffirmed that he meant what he said, and his White House is not trying to back it down or “clean it up”.

Some accuse Biden of being soft on Putin. Now he bluntly voices what many of us are thinking, and those accusers are clutching their pearls. Make up your minds, people. You can’t have it both ways.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson offered a warning on Monday about the repercussions of removing Russian President Vladimir Putin from power, and suggested that Islamic extremists would somehow get hold of the country’s nuclear weapons and use them on Americans.

“So, Russia has a large and restive population of Islamic extremists. Do we think it’s possible that with no one running the country ― because of course we have no chosen successor to Putin ― is it possible, if we did that, that one of those 6,000 nuclear weapons might wind up in the hands of some anti-American terror group and be used against our civilian population here?” he asked. “A nuclear weapon! Well, it’s not just possible, it’s likely.”

Carlson has made a habit of defending Putin, even after the Russian dictator made moves to invade Ukraine. Since the war began, Carlson has become a favorite for rebroadcasts on Russian propaganda channels for blaming President Joe Biden for the invasion, parroting Kremlin propaganda and spreading conspiracy theories justifying the invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier this month, a Mother Jones report revealed a leaked Kremlin memo that directed Russian state-sponsored media to use Carlson’s broadcasts “as much as possible” due to his criticism of the U.S. and NATO and defense of Putin.

Republicans got so much help from Putin in the past that they don’t want regime change.

In the meantime we have a Justice Thomas who has a wife who left a cult, that has joined the Q cult. Was at the rally and may have been part of those that conspired for the insurrection against the USA on January 6th. Where Justice Thomas has proven he cannot do his job without obstructing justice in favor of his wife, and yet refuses to recuse himself from any judgements involving the January 6th insurrection.

As for this toon. Russia does need to find a way to get around their problem with voter suppression and vote Putin out as soon as their elections allow.
