Cathy: Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Mom: Tell me! Tell me everything!! Cathy: I couldn't find anything and got so frustrated that I bought an overpriced sweatsuit just to rationalize all the time I wasted shopping! ...Then I bought two pairs of pants that are too small... ...Then I let a 19-year-old sales person with a pierced nose convince me I needed a sequined halter top... ...Then I HAD TO HAVE this t-shirt... This cologne... This purse... and then I succumbed to the footwear department!! Mom: Feel better? Cathy: Yes. Mom: Great. Go home and enjoy. Cathy: Ok. Mom: Of all our rituals, few are treasured as the mother-daughter shopping confessional.
I find an interview with Cathy Guisewite from April 2019 on the Mom’s Don’t Have Time To Read Books podcast. Hopefully the link I posted works. https://open.spotify.com/episode/5sANFBuSsSaNNFee8sFxJO?si=0CtUHt9aQTelGNguwnhDUw
