Too bad. Instead of the last panel, it could have been the first panel of a fresh new story for Cathy.

Yeah, too bad. She could’ve done this years ago, but for too long she just piddled around with strips and story arcs that seemed way too familiar for someone who’s been reading Cathy most of his life. I actually hope the Saturday before is the “I’m pregnant!” or “We’re adopting!” strip, and the Sunday finale is a big epilogue like For Better or For Worse was.

Maybe mom could start feeding hopes about grand childs, and maybe if cathy does´nt win or loose pounds, if irving does´nt see any electronic device, maybe….. just maybe grandma finally get them

Cathy should stick with her dogs. At least they’re way easier to toilet train than kids.

Lila would be a better mother tham Cathy. Poor kid’s first visit to the shrink would be a pre-existing condition.

She doesn’t seem too happy. Enjoy the affections of your dogs, Cathy!

Cathy..dogs are just as children except they do not talk back….seems better to me..:~)

Cathy doesn’t seem to react much to children. She seems clueless, too. (well, maybe not as clueless as the dogs are) Will Guisewite really give Cathy and Irving a baby of their very own at the end?

Cathy desires a child of her own for ALL the wrong reasons…

I’m with you lastwords – it would have been a whole new beginning for Cathy and a lot of fun for us too. I sure wish CG would reconsider and let us continue to have our beloved Cathy with a whole new story plot – out of the shops and into the nursery/preschool/school etc., with Cathy & Irving acting as somewhat responsible parents (with Cathy’s parents to back them up – not Irving’s).

I liked the actual last panel better than my suggested last panel. It was much more satisfying to the readers.
