Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for January 13, 2008
Transcript:
Cathy: We used to run to the fax machine ten times a day... now we sit at our desks and e-mail. We used to race to the post office... now we order postage, supplies and pick-ups online. We used to haul files from office to office... now we scroll through them on the computer. We used to lift, bend, sort, stack, staple and zoom around... now we click, tap and scroll. Because of technology, at least 750 calories that used to get worked off in a normal business day now go into permanent, unwanted storage. To compensate, employees will have to exercise four more hours a day. Therefore, we propose the workday ends at 1:00 pm. Mr Pinkley: When might the workday begin? Charlene: Our caramel macchiatos were just delivered! We'd better go home now!
